An ``extremely troubled'' Gov. Bill Richardson says he wants to meet with Democratic state auditor candidate Jeff Armijo to decide whether Armijo should drop out of the race over allegations of sexual misconduct. But Armijo said Monday that he's in the race to stay.
``The fact that there are two different police reports with serious claims gives the governor significant concern,'' Richardson spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said in a prepared statement.
``The governor hopes to meet soon with Mr. Armijo to discuss the allegations and decide whether he should stay in the race,'' he said.
Richardson plans to meet with Armijo at an undisclosed location today.

I hope that the scandal-tainted Jeff Armijo does his best impersonation of Katherine Harris and stays in the race.
That may be the first time in Richardson's career he was concerned about a 'Rat's sexual misconduct. He might start with concerning himself with... himself.
It was just announced, Armijo has withdrawn from the race.
I hope that the GOP will actually support their nominee, CPA Lorenzo Garcia.
Mr. Garcia apparently doesn't even have a website up. What happened to Sen. Domenici's pledge to do something about the lack of GOP statewide officeholders in NM ? For heavens' sake, he's the de facto leader of the state party !
Since he is a Dim, are they wanting him to drop out of this race so he can run for President?
He has an interesting biography, having challenged the convicted felon Michael Montoya (once as a Green !).
