The former actor and U.S. senator from Tennessee is next heading to Iowa.
He'll be filming new ads while he's there.

Wow! You mean Thompson is actually in Mississippi picking up endorsements? He’s heading to Iowa again next? You have to get stories from local papers to see what Fred’s really up to because the MSM does not like to cover it [lest some might think he is actually campaigning and blow their carefully created image of a man sitting at home feeding the birds].

Oh, they’ll do stories on him, as long as it’s a gaffe or some other negative, like his “trophy wife” or “laziness” or some such...

We are moving into the final stretch, this is going to be verrry interesting. I wonder what the best timing of an NRA endorsement would be? Before NH, or IA, or just before FLA?

I am really getting sick of the MSM dumping on Fred. Almost always negative press.

Good news...however, what the hell is happening in Iowa? I know New Hampshire is full of RINOS, but I had high hopes that Fred would come out big in Iowa in the end. His numbers are dropping and I just can’t figure out why. Could someone tell me what I am missing?

Polls of Iowa are notoriously unreliable, as it is not a primary state, but a caucus. A caucus entails trudging down to a church basement, school gym, firehouse or other appropriate place and attending a meeting. You must pick a leader, defend your candidate against others, engage in a straw poll or be polled by standing in groups. It is not simply a voting booth. Furthermore, the date has been changed and many will not get the word. It is an organizational challenge unlike a primary (which favors Romney and Paul). However, there are many Fredheads throughout the state and the press may be surprised.

I’m not surprised.

Fred is the faraway viable favorite in Dixie...no doubt of that

I will take your word for it. I still think Fred Thompson is by far the best candidate to beat Hillary. No doubt in my mind. I will stand strong. I don’t have a great deal of money, however, I will continue to support Fred, as I did tonight, but am somewhat skittish to invest in a futile endeavor. Just for the record, I gave $2,000 to McCain in 2000...look where it got me. Stupid I know.

I don’t want to be burned again. I am positive in my heart that Fred Thompson is the candidate that can beat Hillary and best represent Conservative values. This split is going to hurt our party if we don’t unite behind the most logical to beat Hillary and represent Republican values not the values of RINOS.

Just think: Half of that $2,000 would help Fred get his message to hundreds of thousands! Even $400 or $500 would fund 4-7 advertisements in smaller markets, letting people see that Fred is for real!!

You didn’t make a mistake in 2000, Senator McCain was campaigning as a man that would clean up after President Clinton. That was preferable to what had gone on before....
