Huckabee Runs into Tancredo Supporters

Mike Huckabee is still supporting illegal immigration:

So what happened to Tom Tancredo’s Iowa supporters after his ‘big announcement’ earlier this week?

We know that the former-candidate threw his support behind Mitt Romney, but on Friday Tancredo’s Iowa state chairman Bill Salier announced that he was supporting Fred Thompson. And while riding through Muscatine on the Huckabus this week, Mike Huckabee was confronted by a very well informed former Tancredo staffer who argued with the Iowa frontrunner over the issue of immigration.

Deb Miller described herself as “looking” for a candidate after her old boss dropped out of the race, and she came to the afternoon rally at the Rendez Vous Banquet Hall equipped with a stack of information compiled from Newsmax and ImmigrationWatchdog.com to help her with her search.

Reading from the papers in her lap, Miller asked Huckabee about a passage from his book that described enforcing current immigration laws as “shear folly” and about three incidents from his time governor that showed questionable strength on combating illegal immigration.

Huckabee addressed her issues point by point, defending his immigration record as compassionate but firm. On giving welfare benefits to illegal aliens:

“The point was not, that I supported giving benefits, the deal was I opposed creating another law to do what the law already did,” Huckabee said, on his battle against a state legislator to defeat a law that would have curtailed the distribution of welfare benefits in Arkansas. According to Huckabee, the fight was to prevent redundant legislation, not protect illegal immigrant rights.

On his conflict with Immigration and Customs Enforcement regarding the raid of an Arkansas factory that employed illegal immigrants, Huckabee said that his issues surrounded ICE’s failure to notify local authorities and to properly care for the children of the immigrants who were arrested.

“You should never allow a six month old, a three month old or a six year old to wonder where his mother and father are,” Huckabee said. “Nothing can be more traumatic to a child and I don’t care if that child is here illegally. I don’t want to be a part of a country that would ignore the humane treatment of a child.”

But despite Huckabee’s best efforts – including a one-on-one conversation after his speech in which he asked her to take a second glance at his record – the generally undecided Miller was still unconvinced.

“The scripture says we’re supposed to obey the laws of the land,” Miller said. “As a Christian, that was my question. You know, how can you justify furthering – rewarding someone who has broken law upon law upon law.”

I sure hope so. The real Huckster is an open borders liberal Quisling who pretends to be a preacher.

Here's the real Huckster on the illegal alien invasion:

Huckabee promotes 'open door' policy at LULAC convention

"Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority," Huckabee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter.

Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK - In a impassioned speech before hundreds of influential Hispanic civil rights leaders from across the nation, Gov. Mike Huckabee told a captive audience Wednesday that America is great because it has always opened it doors up to people seeking a better way of life.

"I would hope that no matter who we are, or where we are from, that America should always be a place that opens its arms, opens it heart, opens its spirit to people who come because they want the best for their families ...," Huckabee said as the largely Hispanic audience gave him a standing ovation.

Huckabee was the keynote speaker, along with Tyson Foods Inc. Chairman and CEO John Tyson, at a noon luncheon of the League of United Latin American Citizens, which is holding its 76th annual convention in Little Rock.

About 10,000 political, community and business leaders, along with exhibitors and speakers are in Little Rock attending the convention at the Statehouse Convention Center. The convention started Monday and runs through Saturday.

Although he never actually talked about the U.S. or Arkansas immigration policy, Huckabee made it very clear where he stood on the issue. In his opening remarks, he said the nation will need to address the concerns of the Hispanic community because of its growing influence and population base.

"Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority," Huckabee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter.

He told the LULAC delegates that their presence in the state's capital city was very important because Arkansas has one of the fastest growing Hispanic populations in the nation. "Your gathering is so very significant for our state," Huckabee said. "We are delighted to have you."

Despite several light moments, Huckabee did not stray away from several controversial issues that made him a target of criticism during the recently ended 85th General Assembly. He said Arkansas needs to make the transition from a traditional Southern state to one that recognizes and cherishes diversity "in culture, in language and in population."

"This is an issue that is going to require extraordinary efforts on both sides of the border, particularly those coming from Mexico," Huckabee said of verifying the status of illegal aliens. "But I am confident that our government will recognize that we should accommodate people who wish to provide the best opportunities for their families (and) employers so that we can make sure our economy has the necessary work force."

During the legislation session, Huckabee criticized an immigration bill by Republican senators Jim Holt of Springdale and Denny Altes of Fort Smith as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life. Senate Bill 206, which died in the Senate, would have required proof of citizenship to register to vote and also force state agencies to report suspected cases of people living in the country illegally. Holt, R-Springdale, replied later to Huckabee's comments that Christian charity does not include turning a blind eye to lawbreaking.

If a former preacher will lie about the cross, what won't he lie about?

Who’s calling for breaking-up families?

It’s his straw man, so he can be a “compassionate conservative Christian” and spend our money on his pet projects. I’d rather see Hillary in the White House, because we could fight her from the other side of the aisle!!

MINUTE MEN of America

NRA of America

We want to know.....what are you waiting for?

Your endorsements could make the difference in the upcoming elections.  If you haven't noticed, you have the perfect candidate in the race.  The future of stopping illegal immigration and the individuals right to bear arms are at stake.  Failure to give your support to the right person could cost all freedom loving Americans dearly.  Your members want you to endorse a person that will stop illegal immigration and secure our rights to bear arms.  A true conservative is the only choice, no liberal republicans or democrats need apply.

Most of this post is actually quoted material from this:

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/12/22/531371.aspx

I applaud Deb Miller for her efforts, but she forgot to bring along her video camera, she appareantly doesn’t know how to ask “cross-examination”-style questions, and she doesn’t appear to have a blog or anything. If not for MSNBC, this never would have happened.

Let me suggest encouraging people to bring along their video cameras, ask better questions, and upload the response to video sites.

Huckabee is the straw man. No candidate could be better suited to moving the Republican Party to the left while reinforcing the stereotype of the conservative as a single-issue rube.

Hillary couldn't dream up a better opponent.

So this Deb Miller worked for Tancredo, who owned the immigration issue, and didn't know about Huckabee's stand on the issue? She worked for Tancredo for crying out loud - I'm sure that there was a huge wall display of all the candidate's stands on immigration in Tancredo's office - and still didn't know what Huckabee stood for?

That is a helluva summary of Huckabee, sir. Great job.

She used one of my favorite Scriptures for throwing at the traitors who are hell bent on destroying America! IF he won't even obey God's laws, then there's no way he's going to obey the laws of our land. He's no more of a "preacher" than I am! He's only using that ruse to gain the votes of the "Christian right." He's dishonest, and I've had my fill of liars professing to be Christians so they can become President. The sitting President is the WORST OF ALL! Jesus said "many will come in my name, see to it that you're not fooled." Today, it's perfectly clear to see what he was talking about.

It will be a cold day in Hell before I vote for that lying pos!
