The GOP contest for Rep. Chip Pickerings (R-Miss.) seat looks to be a two-candidate race, according to a poll conducted for businessman David Landrums campaign in late January.
Former state Sen. Charlie Ross leads Landrum 30 to 24 percent ahead of the March 11 primary, with no other candidate in the double digits. If no candidate reaches 50 percent in the primary, a runoff will be held April 1.
A previous poll suggested that Ross, who ran for lieutenant governor last year and is the only well-known political figure in the race, held a large early lead. But Landrum has driven his name recognition and poll numbers up with early advertising.

I don’t expect that the Democrats will be a serious factor in this race.
Who are we supporting here ?
I don’t know. They all seem conservative, so it’s more a matter of personality, home town, and professional trade than of issues.
I Mississippi Freeper could give us more information.
Mississippi ping!
Clintonfatigued, have you seen this site?
It has a good search feature, in addition to being a very good site for the goings on in MS.
HT to NerdDad (am I right, ND?) for the link.
I’ve been enjoying the site very much.
Howdy! I’ve been reading a lot on that site as well. Lots of interesting stories posted. I haven’t tried the search feature yet. :)
Howdy to you, too! Good to see you!
I searched Landrum and Ross and found out quite a bit about each of them, including their TV ads.
For any who want to know what’s up with Dickie, that site is da bomb! ;o)
Yup. Ole’ Dickie is quite the snake/worm. I like how the folks over there are identifying all the players and their connections.
Just another Missippi story. Then again, I’ll bet someone could make a mint out of fictionalizing Dickie storIES. heh.
Good morning DC2k.
Don’t you just love that site? I heard about it on the Paul Gallo show on Supertalk MS radio. The guys who run the site have become regulars on his show with all the Dickie coverage. They are usually on around 6:45 on Friday mornings. That’s a bit early for you out on the left coast but it’s drive time for me. If you like those early hours, they stream over supertalkms.com.
CF, I think you're right about the two being conservative...(as far as I know)...both are good men.
In Christ...Alone!
Wiley
Is this the Pickering seat or the Wicker seat? I was unaware that Pickering had already resigned.
Hey, dc, how are ya?
Thanks for that link, I’ll be using it a lot.
Another site yall might be interested in for MS News is www.magnoliareport.com
I’m voting for Charlie.
It’s the primary for Pickering’s seat. He hasn’t resigned.
Ross is the only one I’ve heard of, and I’ve heard nothing but good things. I don’t know about the other guy.
Better late than never, eh NerdDad? lol
I can stream Super Talk MS way out here in the hinterlands.
But, 4:45 am is just a tad early for me. ;o)
Yep...I love that site.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
I think it’s a great site!
I’m glad you are enjoying it.
From what I’ve read about the two men, I think they are both conservative.
I think I like Ross best, though.
Hey, Miss Magnolia!
It’s certainly good to “see” you!
The link is great!
Enjoy!
Charlie Ross is a great guy, a real conservative leader. But both candidates are solid conservatives, so voters will have to decide for themselves.
