A group of Republicans said Thursday they are making an organized effort to support the Democratic candidate in the 6th U.S. Congressional District race, state Rep. Don Cazayoux.

About 40 people who identified themselves as Republicans who gathered at a news conference to announce the newly formed “Republicans for Cazayoux” said Cazayoux’s values — being pro-life, pro-gun and his ideas for national security — have led them to support a Democrat in the congressional race.

Cazayoux, of New Roads, will face Republican Woody Jenkins, a former state representative, in a special election for the 6th District seat May 3. Two no party candidates and one candidate who is the Constitution Party candidate also will be on the ballot in May.

It just keeps getting worse and worse. Maybe Freepers should stock up on anti-acid for November.

"New Republican Phony liberal Democrat group pretending to be Republicans backs Don Cazayoux (LA special election update)"

Fixed it. Interesting how Democrat groups never come out for real Republicans.

These people are idiots. I refuse to believe that they are not voting for Jenkins because is not conservative enough. I suspect they’re RINOs or just Jenkins-haters who want to throw the race to the Dem for, oh, pick your stupid reason.

I am so glad I live in the first district, home of my soon-to-be-elected new Congressman Steve Scalise. No RATS allowed!

The New Roads boys stick together. I have lots of old college friends from there and know David Bondy very well. I have a lot of respect for him but don’t know anything about Kaz-You. In general I don’t see voting for the socialists no matter how nice and conservative they appear to be. What a sticky wicket this is.

Though Jenkins shares many of the same values for which the Republican group credited Cazayoux, LSU College Republicans President Smoot Carter said he identifies with Cazayoux “on a more personal level.” David Bondy, the chief executive office of Louisiana United Businesses Association Workers’ Comp, called LUBA, and a “lifelong Republican,” said he sees Cazayoux as someone who is willing to bring people together and work with them, regardless of their party.

These republicans should be tarred and feathered.

The Democrat is a member of the party of Obama and Hillary ... "I’m proud of my record as a conservative, moderate person,” Cazayoux said. “I’ll continue to be that. I think the district demands that.”

Is he proud of running with liars, liberals and leftists? Will he be proud to vote Pelosi as speaker?
