Two polls separate polls show a substantial number of Hillary Clintons supporters are considering voting for a Republican president, rather than Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in November.
A USA TODAY/Gallup poll conducted last Thursday-Sunday found 23 percent of Clintons supporters said they may vote for GOP presidential candidate John McCain in November. 47 percent said they were solidly Obama.
A NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, released late last week, showed similar results. According to their poll 21 percent of Clintons supporters are planning to vote for McCain and 27 percent are undecided. 52 percent of the Clinton supporters polled said they will vote for Obama.
I just caught John McCain on Leno (west coast broadcast). He was really awesome. This is why Obiden’s nasty attacks that he’s “out of touch” just won’t work. He displayed a sort of charisma and authentic charm that Obama’s plastic celebrity can never touch.
And I know that way more Americans saw McCain tonight than saw the Democrat’s petty gripefest in Denver.
It will take voter fraud of an unprecidented level for Obambi to squirm his way into the White House.
And I am still waiting for the uber-torpedo from the SS Her Heinous....
You have to substract that with many 'conservatives' who already pledged that they're not going to vote for McCain no matter what. Some of them, in fact, explicitly want Obama to win in order to 'save the conservative movement'.
When we have reached the point where jilted Hillary supporters are voting for the liberal Republican candidate instead of the uberliberal, it is time for Conservatives to pick themsleves up off the road, wave goodbye to the bus they were thrown under, and form a new party.

Electing a Socialist “Citizen of the World” would be a curious way to “save the conservative movement”. I do not like many of the things George Bush has done, but I am glad that neither Al Gore nor John Kerry is in the White House.
I may be just another number, but I vote!
I agree. I don;t like that Old Geezer but tonight on Jay, he was comfortable taking the backseat to victory than the MSM’s constant kissing of Obama’s rear. I don’t want to jinx Johnny but it looks like McCain is #44.
I hope conservatives get that through their heads...
Signed: Conservative that can read the writing on the wall...
I’m hoping this holds true. In the back of my mind, I worry that this could be a bit like the Bradley effect. That is, I wonder how many of these Clinton supporters actually will follow through on their pledge to vote for McCain.
A lot will probably depend on how the convention shakes out, I think.
I don’t understand why some people around here have to go out of their way to diminish Senator McCain in big ways and in small ways. Why do you feel the need to say you “don’t like that Old Geezer”?
McCain is very likable, and it almost always comes through. He does great in these sorts of pop culture forums. Much better than the cautious and measured Obama, who always tries too hard to come across thoughtful and intelligent, but just seems stage managed to get around to saying much of anything specific.
McCain is the only thing standing between Obama bin Biden and the White House, so you’d better warm up to the “Old Geezer” fast.
If he picks a woman for veep, he’ll be in. Otherwise, it’ll be all out war and he will probably lose.
They're working on it. Nothing new for the Dems, just requires a bit of scaling this time.
There are only a couple hundred of those nationwide. The problem is, they all post here (stridently), so it seems like there are a lot more. ;)
I know of zero Clinton voters who will vote for McCain. Do not bet on PUMA support, period.
all out war sounds fair enough
If that is their true intent, offer to drive them to the polls.
