Pew Research Center and backup polls report that devout Roman Catholics have found a friend in Sarah Palin.
What is not known to many is that Sarah Palin was as an infant baptized Roman Catholic. Then her parents turned to Pentecostalism, specifically the Assembly of God. Consequently, she was reared in evangelical Protestantism.
What evangelicals and devout Catholics have in common is high regard for the Bible as divine revelation, believing Christ as Savior God, and the biblical moral base.
They both also hold that each human being is accountable to the God of the Bible at the Judgment Seat of Christ. That means that both attempt to live out the Christ ethic as stated in Scripture.
Evangelicals and devout Catholics believe in heaven and hell, saving grace bestowed upon the genuinely repentant and that the purpose of this existence is to exhibit Christ incognito.
Therefore, when it comes to evangelical Sarah Palin, evangelicals and devout Catholics are regarded as conservatives while renegade Catholics and theologically apostate Protestants are considered drastically out of step from the will of God.
Evangelicals and devout Catholics, for instance, agree with Sarah Palin in conforming with Gods abhorrence of abortion. They also support Sarah Palins definition of marriage and family in line with the biblical data.
They endorse the Judeo-Christian heritage of this nation as well as secularism being the enemy of religious expression in public life.
Devout Catholics do not find a home in the B. Husein Obama / Joe Biden den. They are repulsed by that duo seeking to mesh all religions as one, discounting biblical morality for moral relativism, and defining deity in any terms convenient.
Devout Catholics consider the Dem twosome as loathsome for B. Hussein Obama and Joe Biden will undercut traditional Catholic ethics, supplanting the Vatican positions with anti-God political opportunism.
Obviously rebel Catholics are at war against devout Catholics. Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, and John Kerry, as examples, represent that stubborn segment intent on undermining the tenets of their own church. They are brazen. They are outspoken. And they have no respect whatsoever for church authority, let alone the Scriptures as the Word of the Almighty God.
Pelosi, Kennedy and Kerry, for instance, have consistently ditched Catholic law for writing their own definition of religious faith. They have sidelined bishopric warnings. They have informed media that no one finally will tell them anything concerning spirituality but what they consider convenient for their own careers.
They consequently have a form of religion but lack the power thereof. They in fact are agents of evil while masquerading as pious Roman Catholics.
In Sarah Palin devout Catholics recognize a sincere believer who knows she is ultimately answerable to the God of Scripture. That encourages devout Catholics who pray for more national leadership in keeping with their devotion to what they consider true faith.
Devout Catholics conclude that they could easily fellowship with Sarah Palin in worship, in prayer and in public witness for what Christ has set forth in the New Testament record.

I know quite a few fellow catholics feel the same way.
catholics=Catholics
This Papist is on board...
So is this mackeral snapper.
SOME and I am not saying all, non-Catholics don’t get the idea that Catholics don’t care what denomination you are, if we are on the same page with the issues, we stand with you. We don’t care what kind of Christian you are, as long as you fight with us and not against us.
I would like to see more of our Jewish brethern join in...
Question: what percentage of Catholics are considered “devout”?
If Sarah were born a Roman Catholic, she was obviously baptised. It’s my understanding the the Church she joined in Alaska also baptised her which really isn’t necessary.
Now thats more like it.
Good!
This Catholic loves Sara Palin!!!
This is a Catholic who has overcome his love of Moose to enough of an extent to say that he loves Sarah Palin more...
Catholic teaching is unequivocal on the subject of abortion, as it should be. One can not agree a little bit, or mostly with the Church’s teaching, only absolutely and entirely. Palin’s statements of belief on abortion square with the Catholic Church’s teachings although I’m not convinced that all of her views do. In the case of McCain however, he would be classifed as in ‘partial’ agreement since he supports embryonic stem cell research and abortion in cases of rape, incest, and the mother’s health. Those views are amply documented. So he falls outside the limits of tolerance on abortion from the Church’s standpoint. Moreover, from a historical perspective, while George Bush’s efforts on behalf of the unborn can be applauded to a point, he also said in the fall of 2003 that the country was ‘not ready’ for a total abortion ban. This was in response to an interview after the Federal Abortion Ban was signed into law. ‘Not Ready?’ Apparently, since 6 Republican Justices were among the 7 voting for Roe V Wade in 1973, and several Republican Presidents since then have paid lip service to their supposed opposition to abortion but have done nothing to stop it, Bush felt that it would be unpopular to introduce a ban to defend millions of unborn babies.
Again, Palin may endear herself to devout Catholics, but the challenge to those same Catholics is to consider with an informed conscience which ‘presidential’ candidate (McCain-Obama) meets the standards the Church requires. Unfortunately, neither candidate measures up.
