Their goal: To undermine the culture, society, and economy of the USA. To weaken America in preparation for a socialist revolution. The communists targeted the three transmission belts of American culture: Academia, the Media, and Hollywood. Recent research reveals the unbelievable extent of their success. When progressives today chant, “Bush lied, people died,” they parrot the KGB’s messages. In the run-up to World War II, the communists characterized President Roosevelt as a war-mongering imperialist, and American foreign policy as somehow evil, and definitely naive. Reading the comments on virtually any Daily Kos posting today reveals the astounding success of the KGB’s influence op. The goals of PC, which began to emerge after the 1970s, up until today, are nearly identical to the goals of the Communist International in 1920: Destroy the society in which capitalism thrives. Bring the capitalists to their knees, so that the elite vanguard can install a dictatorship of the proletariat, for the good of all mankind.

Here's another commie that played a significant role in Obama's development, Alice Palmer.

In 1995, when Obama gets the chance to run for the state senate in a district that included Hyde Park, the home of the university and some of the poorest ghettos on the South Side, he jumped at it. A longtime, widely-revered matron of the civil rights movement named Alice Palmer, a board member of the US Peace Council, identified by the FBI as a front organization of the Communist Party USA, had held the seat for a number of years, but she announced that she wanted to run for Congress. So, Obama seized the opportunity and proclaimed his intention to run for Alice's open seat.

Nine years before Palmer hand-picked Obama as her successor, her organization, The Black Press Institute, contributed an article, "An Afro-American Journalist on the USSR," to the Communist Party USA newspaper the People's Daily World.

The article tells how Palmer attended the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and came away favorably impressed by the Soviet system.

I lived in India in the late 80’s and saw fist hand a lot of the Soviet active measures campaigns. They would plant stories in sympathetic Indian newspapers about how the US was providing arab prostitutes for american GIs invading Iraq, or how the US had created the HIV virus to kills black Americans. Once the story was published they’d get another non India newspaper somewhere in the west to quote the story, then the US media would pick it up. The original source would disappear through the repeated quotes and it would become a fact. What made it so effective was the willingness of the foreign and even US news media to run with any anti-American story they could find.
