Republican fundraiser Fred Malek invited Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, both potential GOP presidential candidates in 2012, to break bread together at his McLean, Va., home Friday night.
Sanfords office confirmed hell be there. Palin is staying back in Alaska due to serious ice-jam flooding and instead sending her husband, Todd. Hell also take her place at the White House Correspondents Dinner, Palins office said Thursday.
. . . . .
The idea of the dinner at his Crest Lane home is to help party donors shopping for a 2012 candidate.
. . . . .
The donors are members of the Executive Roundtable of the Republican Governors Association, a group which holds dinners and other events around the country to introduce governors to the partys biggest donors. This is all about leading our party back and demonstrating what it means to be a Republican, said a person familiar with plans for the dinner.

I think we all know what it means to be a Republican these days. How about someone teaching folks what it means to be a Conservative, someone who has actually heard of the U.S. Constitution?

Malek is a big supporter of Palin. He has written about her in his blog quite a bit. Palin made the right call, can’t be hobnobbing with the east coast crowd while there is a flood crisis in Alaska. She won’t get any credit for that decision, but will get more critism for not attending another event.

Dynamite works well for ice jams.
They did that for the North Dakota floods.

"Palin is staying back in Alaska due to serious ice-jam flooding..." Good. One rap against Sarah is that she's all about running in 2012 and not about being Governor. Obviously, this won't silence her critics, but it's one less thing for them to latch onto.

Someone should ask those folks if they’ve had all the global warming they can stand.

You naughty girls, Sarah should give you all a good hard slap.
(Of course I deserve a good beating from Todd Palin and my own lovely wife.)

I heard Sanford on Hughs show. Very impressive and he stuck to his guns when Hugh was pushing him to the center.

It is a real honor to live in a state with Sanford as Gov and DeMint as Senator.
Pandsey Graham on the other hand....
