Terri Lynn Land: She is term-limited as secretary of state and lives in the district. But she is a running mate for gubernatorial candidate Mike Bouchard. Will she ditch him for a job she has long desired?
Kenneth Sikkema: The former state Senate majority leader from Kent County was long viewed as a potential heir apparent to Ehlers. Now he' i a "senior policy fellow" with Public Sector Consultants Inc., a Lansing lobbying firm. Is it too late for a comeback?
Jerry Kooiman: The former Grand Rapids state legislator began his political career 25 years ago as an aide to Ehlers' predecessor, U.S. Rep. Paul Henry. He has been the community relations director for the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine since he was term-limited in 2006. Now that MSU has almost moved in, does he want to move on?
Bill Hardiman: The former Kentwood mayor is term-limited in his state Senate seat. He enjoyed strong support from party elders when he sought the Senate seat in 2002. Is that support still there?
David Hildenbrand: The term-limited state representative from Lowell Township has his eye on Hardiman's Senate seat. Should he aim higher?
Steve Heacock: The former Kent County Commission chairman is now chief administrative officer at the Van Andel Institute. A former partner at the region's largest law firm, Warner, Norcross & Judd, he has kept his political irons in the fire with the power elite, serving or having served on 30 community boards.
Mark Jansen: The state senator from Gaines Township has a good shot at becoming Senate majority leader after this year's elections. Does he want to give up that plum in favor of a crowded and bruising congressional primary race?

For the time being, Terri Lynn Land is the one to watch. Will she quit running for Lieutenant Governor to make this race? Until she makes a decision, all bets are off.
I’m in the 7th district (Walberg voter) but I’ll keep an eye on this one. If we can move this seat a bit further to the right, I’ll be happy.
I’d rather see Hardiman run.
So would I. If Land stays in her current race, there’s a good chance that Hardiman will run.
That shoveling wore me out, I can't think straight.
Of the others, if Terri Lynn Land runs, that may spell the end of Bouchard's campaign. I've heard the name Dick Posthumus as well as a possibility. He was the Lt. Governor under John Engler and almost became governor in 2002.
I'd rather not see Ken Sikkema run. He supports higher taxes.
GO WALBURG! Get rid of the Golden Shower.
I’ll be voting for Tim Walberg over Marky Mark, but that is one bad visual.
Thanks darling for keeping us imformed. You are a sweetheart. Come on guys and gals give Grellis a big cyber hug here. She does a lot.
Scour the Schauer.
