STRATFORD -- Republican Laura Hoydick has won the special election for the 120th Assembly District seat recently vacated by Mayor John A. Harkins.
Hoydick received 1,949 votes to 1,390 for Democrat Janice Andersen. Hoydick won in all six voting districts with 58 percent of the vote to 42 percent for Andersen
Interesting information. Thanks for posting.
the margin of victory is stunning, considering the effort put in by DEMS

change in voting patterns is similar to Massachusetts suburbs in Scott Brown race.
Good. More evidence for House RATS if they walk the health care plank.
another defeat for DEMS (connecticut)
This is great. I’ve spent most this past year in that area.
Another GOP special legislative victory in a Dem-held seat, this time in CT.
Whoops ! Belay that, this was a GOP-held seat already, not a Dem one. I thought it was a gain. Nevermind.
Another victory for freedom
Every time a Republican wins, especially in areas where Obama and the democrats did well in 2008, it makes me happy. But victories in places like MA, NJ, VA, and now CT tell me that come November, the democrats are dead meat. You might think that Obama would slow down with his destruction of America to allow his buddies to win some of their reelections, but he evidently doesn't care about that. He is focused, alright, but not on creating jobs but on implementing his commie agenda at any cost. And he is in a hurry, 'cause after November 2010 it's gonna' be much harder for him to get legislation through.
More good news on the special election front.
Unfortunately, I erred in my initial claim. This was already a GOP-held seat. Winning Dem-held seats in CT are of paramount importance, considering our disastrous continuous losses there for many cycles.
Yeah, well I’ll take a win anytime.
What matters is whether Obama won this district in 2008 - is this correct?
This one of the local races you say GOP activists had been ignoring?
no activists there, not needed. GOP state central committee poured a lot into this race.
They cannot give that much attention to races in NOV, so activists have to take the initiative. I can say that it is not happening. The usual GOP regulars and insiders will have a very good year. But no conservative uprising.
RINO 2010. In CT.
