I understand the thread, but to think the government can handle mother nature is asinine. That Katrina bullsh%t was all about a race war. The folks stuck below sea level did so by their own laziness. It couldn’t be lit up any different. If folks truly need help they have friends, family, and neighbors to do it. New Orleans is a lesson in how not to wait for nature’s wrath to strike and then pillage the city.
I have no desire to ever go there again.
Thirteen out of 57 states. What’s the big deal?
I am in Ohio and I can say I have never seen such anger. Everyone is just seething. I do not think we will re elect Strickland nor send a democrat to the senate.
I can’t imagine living in the Ohio/Indiana beltway.If manufacturing was the primary force of your economy,you probably knew it was coming to an end someday. I know how a lot of residents from the beltway headed south when times were rough.Even if we do slowly recover from the Obama Recession,I don’t think Ohio will ever be the same.In these times,it helps to live in a State that relies on tourism dollars.I live in Florida and thank god for the brutal winters{Just wish last winter was busier,it was awful this time around}
Alinsky among many others is his inspiration and what makes you think he is not in total agreement with those who are dedicated to the destruction of the U.S.?
if you live in a solid red state,don’t expect any bail outs for any “small disaster” until we have a republican president in 2013.
Yep,that’s the same list I have.
That’s not it. Over 100 communities spread across 46 counties in Tennessee have been declared disaster areas and FEMA is on the job.
This is good and as it should be. Thousands lost everything. Davidson County (Nashville) suffered almost 2 billion in damage and the losses are still being assessed.
The problem is that Tennessee and, I believe, Kentucky got nary a word, prayer or flyover look-see from Obama. Zip. Zero. Nada.
A little Presidential attention would have helped bring attention and donations to the many necessary fund-raising relief efforts that are on-going.
Ignored and snubbed indeed.
Tennessee is Red but hard-hit Nashville is solidly Blue and went for Obama big time. Memphis, too. People have noticed and aren’t happy about it.
Right! the attitude of many of those living in New Orleans was,well,we haven’t had a major hurricane in 10/12 years,so Whats there to worry about? And look at what happened in Miami in 1992. Although I live in Florida,at least I have places to relocate in case Hurricane Damien wipes out my condo complex.
And you better bet Hurricane Damien is coming.
at this rate,obama will be down to five states that will actually have a high approval of him by 2011
