Chuck DeVore fires up pro-Israel rally
SacBee: Capitol Alert ^ | 6/6/10 | Jack Chang

Posted on 06/07/2010 7:48:36 AM PDT by SmithL

While Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, R-Irvine, took the stage late into a pro-Israel rally held in front of the Israeli consulate in Los Angeles this afternoon, the candidate for the U.S. Senate made sure to give a louder and more fiery speech than those of the nearly two dozen people who came before him.

Almost all of the speakers, which included Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., defended the actions of Israeli soldeirs who last week boarded a Turkish ship trying to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. The soldiers killed nine people aboard the ship after they were attacked with metal sticks and other weapons.

Standing in front of several hundred pro-Israel demonstrators, DeVore hollered most of his speech, which was broadcast at ear-splitting volume. And he used some of the same provocative rhetoric he's become known for.

"Let us say this unequivocally and unashamedly and emphatically: What Israel did to the Gaza flotilla was right, it was legal and it was moral," Devore bellowed. "It is never wrong to starve a movement that thinks the Holocaust was simply a good start. The fight between Israel and Hamas is a fight between civilization and barbarisim. It is as simple as that."

We love going to vote on election day. It’s a big deal at our house.

I’m not sure I could adapt to voting by mail.

I do appreciate your vote for DeVore—wouldn’t it be great if he can pull this out?

Funniest response about Helen Thomas’s anti-Israel comment:

“A furor has erupted...” - Laura Ingraham (probably unintentionally)

That quote they used was maybe the weakest part of DeVore's speech. Clearly the author of this news article doesn't favor Chuck, spending more ink telling us of his method of delivery than his views.

I liked this portion of DeVore's Speech much better:

"What humanitarian mission opens sea lanes to terrorists, to Hamas?
What peace activists lynch Israeli soldiers?
What humanitarian mission refuses to cooperate with lawful authorities?
What peace activists chant about Mohamed's massacre of a Jewish tribe?
The Gaza flotilla was not about peace, it was about war.
And why is this a much better segment of DeVore's speech? It tells the reader what the Sac Bee and every other MFM has been consistently leaving out of the narrative: The behavior of the "peace activists."

Apparently. the author of this piece, Jack Chang from the Sacramento Bee, takes exception to the volume of DeVore's speech. Maybe that's supposed to tar DeVore as an "extremist."

BTW, were there any 'Rat speakers at the pro-Israel rally?

They are obviously trying to paint DeVore in the worst light possible, because he is the most conservative GOP candidate in the Senate primary.

We also go as a family to vote together in person. Our oldest will be voting with us tomorrow for the first time.

Great news to hear that the family votes together! I have a pretty good idea you’ll be voting correctly.

Sunken Civ.

The Sac Bee left out the best lines of DeVore's speech,

"What humanitarian mission opens sea lanes to terrorists, to Hamas?
What peace activists lynch Israeli soldiers?
What humanitarian mission refuses to cooperate with lawful authorities?
What peace activists chant about Mohamed's massacre of a Jewish tribe?
The Gaza flotilla was not about peace, it was about war."
probably because he laid out how bad the "peace" activists behaved. The MFM has a blackout about that bit of news.

Since you pinged your list, I thought you might wish to highlight that news too.

--

justiceseeker93: You already know. It would be a boon to rational discussion to see those concise words repeated all over the internet.

Go DeVore.
Keep the Tea Party revolt alive.
Vote DeVore!

Anybody have any idea what percentage of votes this will translate into for Chuck?

If the Islamist Jihadist laid down their weapons, there would be no more war. If Israel laid down their weapons, there would be no more Israel.

Given MFM’s misinformation, I don’t believe this has gotten a broadcast release that will aid Chuck except by people sending emails with the Vimeo link.

Based upon my GOTV phone calls, and the responses, I won’t dare tell you how high the percentage of DeVore voters responded — and this is Los Angeles — because you would never believe me.

If the people I spoke with told me the truth, the only way Chuck loses tomorrow is that the vote is rigged against him.
