A GALLUP poll released today places Sarah Palin above all other likely Republican candidates with regard to popularity and favorability.
76% of Republicans find her favorable. Mike Huckabee comes in second with 65%.
This contradicts another GALLUP poll released in November of 2009 where Huckabee was in the lead with 71% and Palin tied with Romney for second place at 65%.
Today's poll also revealed that all Americans favor Palin by 44% to 47% who do not.
The guts of Palin's 2012 potential sit with Obama's current status. GALLUP's approval rating of Obama shows 44% with a disapproval of 48% -- which sets him very close to Palin.
Statistically, if Palin and Obama ran against the other today, not one stands a better chance above the other.
This could prove to be great news for Sarah Palin if indeed she is interested in running. As her candidates keep pushing through their primaries and assuming they win their respective general elections this year, Palin's credibility increases.
Moreover; Palin will have much Congressional and Governors' support to cash in on once 2012 rolls around giving her substance.
Perhaps David Brooks might want to consider updating his resume very soon.

Gallup is not very accurate .. they want Huckabee because they believe he’s easy to defeat.
They hate Palin .. so they will try every way they can to show her as not viable.

I fear that if the media starts to act like Sarah is the frontrunner for 2012, then something might be wrong with her.

If Palin is so dumb and so unsuitable for the Presidency, shouldn’t liberals WANT her to run???

Palin is doing exactly what both Nixon and Reagan did before they were elected POTUS
I’d say it’s a little better then even odds right now that she will be elected POTUS in 2012
It’ll be worth it to see the liberal left become completely unhinged.

Sarah is great, and I love her where she is. The drum beat of we conservatives.
But Republicans and Conservatives don't elect Presidents, the nation does - 51% of that nation. Sarah will have a
difficult time attracting moderates, independent and center left types that we will need to offset black and latino bias toward Democrats.
Sarah is great - she is also a hot potato.
She also may be running against a more formidable candidate than Obama.

What would the perfect 2012 Republican Debate podium look like?
Here is my wish list that would fill up half the debate stage. Good start I think. Suggestions for 4 or 5 more?
Sarah Palin
Chris Christie
Michele Bachmann
Bobby Jindal
