Sarah Palin Hits 'Virtual' Campaign Trail for Washington Senate Candidate Clint Didier
US Newswire ^ | August 14, 2010 | Kathryn Serkes

An extra push is coming from Sarah Palin for the Didier for Senate campaign in Washington State in the last four days of the primary.

About a half-million voters across the state will be getting a call from the former V.P. candidate urging them to vote for Clint Didier.

Palin's May 21 endorsement of Didier was one of her earliest endorsements this campaign season, calling him a "selfless, inspiring commonsense constitutional conservative who will help put our country on the right track."

Palin's recorded message calls Didier a "...a new kind of Republican. A true conservative dedicated to our nation's bedrock principles of limited government."

She goes on to take a swipe at the Party establishment: "Unlike establishment candidates who just talk about lower taxes, Clint has signed a pledge to do so."

Palin also launched a "moneyblast" in July to help raise funds for Didier.

Enthusiastic Didier supporters have also organized a 'virtual' phone bank across the state, calling voters with their personal 'get out and vote for Clint' messages. "This thing is going viral," said volunteer Sam Wilson of Snohomish County. "We call them to ask for their vote, and they volunteer to help make the calls!"

"I am so honored that Sarah Palin as well as so many grassroots supporters and volunteers are pulling out all of the stops to bring home this win for the State of Washington," said Didier.

NOTE:

Clint Didier, former 3-time Super Bowl champ with the Washington Redskins, returned home to Eltopia, Washington to run his family farm with his wife, Kristie, three sons and daughter. He's endorsed by Sarah Palin, Ron Paul and former state GOP chair Ken Eikenberry.

An August 1st Washington State Political Poll shows Didier leading his Republican opponents for a spot against Patty Murray.

I thought I saw complaints here that she wasn't backing him...

The anti-Palin cartel is quite busy here on FR. Glad to see her supporting Clint.

Rossi and Akers are doing better against Patty at this point:

Of course, 2 1/2 months is a long time in politics...

I would imagine Sarah wants candidates she backs to go out there and work their tail off, like she has done in the past.

I interviewed Clint on our America’s Summit call not long ago. He did well. Appears to be a true Reaganite.

While I detest many of Palin’s endorsements, this one seems to be good.

Got my first robo-call from her today. But, she was too late. I had already given $$ to Didier, and already voted for him.

To 9 - You’re a hillbilly from Iowa. What or whom you detest is of no consequence.

"I am so honored that Sarah Palin as well as so many grassroots supporters and volunteers are pulling out all of the stops to bring home this win for the State of Washington," said Didier.

Spoken like the feckless RINO you are.

We’ve got affiliates all across Washington State. Do you think Clint would like their support?

I’m betting so.

He’s quite a bit smarter than you. Far more principled, too.

By the way, we’re not hillbillies out here in Iowa. We’re hayseeds, thank you very much.

“What are the differences between Clint Didier and Dino Rossi?”

I like them both. I’ve volunteered for the Rossi races for Governor, and with my neighbor being his campaign organizer it was hard not to get involve. Good guy, but much softer spoken than Didier, taking the high-road whenever possible. Not always a good choice when running against our northwest Democrats, who can get quite brutal in their ads.
Didier, is the opposite in that respect, saying exactly what he feels and not apologizing for it. He can really get you pumped up when hearing him – but there is a down side to his style. He does come off as sounding like an angry libertarian, and that can be a turn-off to the moderate voters that are needed so badly to win in Washington. And it is all about winning in November.

I did cast my early ballot for Diddier, but I let my neighbor put Rossi signs up in my yard. I will be happy with either. But whoever it is better give it all they got beginning August 18th
