On a pale-gold mid-October afternoon, Sarah Palin takes the stage at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, and the faithful are ready for her. The crowd, 1,500 strong, is mostly white, on the older side, and casually dressedthough in my row theres a hulking young Samoan in full Revolutionary War regalia. For the past hour, the audience has been treated to a series of warm-up acts that arent your typical Northern California fare: a choir called Celestial City; the head of the outfit sponsoring the event, the Liberty & Freedom Foundation, who speaks of a conservative reawakening; and a local talk-radio host whose shtick is that of a bargain-basement Glenn Beck, replete with attacks on Karl Marx, Richard Nixon (for creating the EPA), Nancy Pelosi, and, of course, Barack Hussein Obama.
Palins own brand of performance art is no less barbed and no more subtle, but still infinitely fascinating. In a deep-blue jacket and tight black skirt, she uncorks a 40-minute soliloquy that is equal parts populism, moralism, stand-up comedy, and free association, all rendered in a syntax as fractured as Joe Theismanns tibia after Lawrence Taylor got through with him. She doles out personal, if possibly fictitious, anecdotes that position her, despite the millions she has pocketed in the past two years, as a defiantly downscale girl: that she and Todd drove their motor home from Wasilla to Los Angeles (distance: 3,375 miles) to watch Bristol on Dancing With the Stars. She winks (metaphorically) at her pop-culture image, snapping off a you betcha and later declaring, November 2 is right around the cornerI can see it from my house!

Interesting theory but I find it implausible. Bloomboob is a flaming liberal. No way in hell would he interfere with the ambitions of a black presidential candidate.
Not to mention that between his role as National Nanny and his support of the GZ mosque, Bloomie’s aspirations for higher office are over.

Jimmy Carter Says Bloomberg 2012 Would Be Bad for America
Brices Crossroads, FYI.
Tell me where Bloombad siphons votes away from the GOP anywhere. He is rabidly anti 2nd amendment. He has screwed the GOP by flipping to secure the Mayor gig. He also rammed through illegally a measure to allow him to run a 3rd term. This guy has no natural base and he is fairly unlikeable.
This piece is basically porn for Rats who see the impending Tea Party freight train coming and looking for some inconceivable silver lining.
they lay awake at night thinking up new ways to Fear Palin
Dumb article..If Obama’s numbers drop so low that Bloomie thinks he can win..Hillary will challenge Zero in the primaries..
They’re assuming she would in fact need a three-way race to win.
1. Miller/Murky/McAdams in Alaska. Miller is leading, or tied with the write in loser Murky, and there is a Dem in this race? Who knew?
2. Rubio/Crist/Meek in Florida. Rubio, the TP Republican is beating the Indy/Rino Crist, and the Dem is in the dust.
3. Tancredo/Meas/Hicky in Colo gov race. I would call Tanc the conservative here, with Maes the Rino, and Hicky the token Dem loser. Tanc is pulling even with Hicky, and Meas is a distant third.
In all three cases, the Conservative or Tea Party candidate is ahead or tied for the lead. If Palin wins the Repub primary, Obama may just be stupid enough to court Bloomy to run 3rd party Rino/Mod, and split the liberal/Dem vote, THROWING THE WIN TO SARAH!
No, I think they mean that Governor Palin needs a third party spoiler to beat Mr. Obama in 2012. I strongly disagree: (1.) Mr. Obama becomes more unpopular by the day and doesn’t have the skill set of a President Bill Clinton to turn that around. (2.) Gov. Palin aready has about 70% of the GOP and millions of Independents and Reagan Democrats in her corner. (3.) I’m a disabled veteran sitting at my computer, yet I’ll raise $2 million dollars for her campaign ... money isn’t going to be a problem. (4.) Mayor Mike Bloomberg didn’t get to be a billionaire by throwing money down the toilet. (5.) The Tea Party movement, by itself, is enough to carry Gov. Palin to the White House, but she has lots more going for her. (6.) She’s going to have a lot of chits all over the country, such as Nikki Haley, Terry Branstad, Sharron Angle, etc.
BOZ will not be running in 2012. The next two years will be “interesting” since the Reds (in Blue) will not give up.
I heard a Michael Medved re-run this weekend and he was talking to the black conservative author of “Acting White”. They were talking about the numbers for zero to be re-elected and both reluctantly agreed that 97% of the blacks and 70% of the Latinos - overrule whites 2 to 1 and that Obama has done that math and can expect to be re-elected.
Firstly, I rather doubt that Mr. Obama will be the Dem nominee in 2012, which means it’ll be Hillary, barring death or dismemberment and secondly, if it is anyone other than Mr. Obama, the blacks will stay home in droves. Also, Gov. Palin was baptized a Catholic, and Mr. Obama, despite his claims to the contrary, is a life-long Moslem.
There are a lot of independents and moderate Republicans and Democrats who want Obama out of office but aren’t at all comfortable with the idea of a President Palin. Those are the votes he’s likely to siphon, and it could very well be enough to ensure that Obama is re-elected.
I admit it: this kind of crap still makes my blood boil. Shouldn't the country know by know that Palin is REAL? I guess it must be just the commie-libs. Well, except for a few sourpusses on FR.
Normally I would agree with you if the spoiler was a middle of the road centrist, but Bloomsburg is a very nasty person and has involved himself in all types of activities that will turn off the so called moderates.
He is actively persecuting gun shops out of his state.
He is actively forcing food producers in the NE to cut salt out of foods they produce.
These things will turn people off immediately.
Jimmy is about Half right, which is way above his bnatting average.
The truth is: Palin can beat Obama with or without Bloomberg. If Bloomberg runs, he siphons liberal northeastern voters from Obama and gives her an excellent shot at New York and even Massachusetts.
Bloomberg will be as much a factor as John Anderson was IMHO, which is to say not at all.
