“But the state that gave the country its first elected female senator — Hattie Caraway — in 1938 now has no female representation in Washington.”

Ah, I get it. It’s conservative now, so it’s sexist. Thanks, Suzi (of whatever rag this is from). LOL.

BTW, which party backed by what movement ran the high profile female candidates? And which party sexualizes and denigrates the other party’s women candidates? Uh huh.

PS Good find, 2nd...

When I was a page in the house, there was one Republican in it.

In Hot Springs, where Clinton graduated from high school, voters chose a dead Republican over a living, breathing Democrat in a state house race.

In another county near Little Rock, a Republican who struggled with a hot check history and an outstanding tax lien during his campaign defeated the longtime Democratic prosecuting attorney whose office prosecuted the hot check cases.

Gotta love Arkansas.

Dead Republicans beating live Democrats. Republican hot check writers beating Democrat hot check prosecutors.

Apparently Arkansas voters know which party and which philosophy is Marxist and unelectable.

Meanwhile the wussified folks in Deleware, Nevada and Alaska think that teenage witch craft, illegal immigration adds and comments about German wall security are things that make somebody unelectable.

Damn, folks in Arkansas have become more civilized than the rest of us.

yeah...after all that is said and done, one would vote to cut taxes and spending and the other would raise taxes and spending.

Not exactly.

The Republican party is a mixed bag.

The Democrat party is the party of death, enslavement and the capitulation of sovereignty. Its cause is devised by Marxists, advanced by liars, and assisted by fools and idiots.

Any candidate who runs for such a party should be unelectable.

The reason Arkansas remained a Democrat stronghold for so long is the liberal Huckabee lading the Republicans.

Bingo. Beebe has done more for the AR GOP as a Democrat than Huckster did for it as a Republican. Now that we’ve got a farm team going, hopefully that phony will never be heard from again in state politics.

Also, if I have the numbers correct, barring any Dem party switches, as of January, we will be at 18D-15R in the State Senate and 56D-44R in the State House, so we could have a majority by 2012. These are the numbers we should’ve had close to a decade ago, which Huckster’s incompetence stopped cold (and indeed, he caused our numbers to drop after 2000, not to rise again until 2008).

Suzi Parker got her start here in Arkansas writing paid obituaries for the Democrat-Gazette.

fieldmarshaldj, do you know if Donna Hutchinson, first wife of Tim, is still in the legislature after this recent election? Tim did a great deal to build up and then tear down the AR GOP.

In 1922 or so, some Democrat started a rumor that President Harding had joined the KKK. And the KKK voted for the Republican candidate for governor in TX in 1924 though George C. Butte, who lost to “Ma” Ferguson, was also anti-Klan. Butte has a most interesting life story. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_C._Butte

I never knew there was a KKK in AR until I saw a sign south of Branson, MO several years ago showing they had adopted a stretch of highway to keep clean. :0)

What did I write that was not serious? All I wrote was the truth.

By the way, what group, the Black Panties or the KKK, do you consider to be the greater danger to the US?
