On ‘Late Night,’ Christie Rolls Eyes at Prospect of Palin Presidency
The Wall Street Journal' s Metropolis ^ | November 23, 2010 | Lisa Fleisher

Faced with the prospect of a President Sarah Palin, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the Republican party’s darling from another coast, shook his head and rolled his eyes.

“I don’t know, but it’s an amazing world,” he said to Jimmy Fallon during a taping of Tuesday’s Late Night show.

Christie brought his sharp tongue to the talk show Tuesday after the two traded barbs over Twitter when the Republican governor canceled a long-planned Hudson River train tunnel.

Fallon had joked that New Yorkers would now have to get to New Jersey as they usually do — by accident.

“You think it’s funny, Jimmy?” Christie challenged Fallon on the show, which airs at 12:35 a.m. “You know what we do to people like that in Jersey?”

Christie, known by Trenton insiders for his wit and occasionally foul language, turned serious and said New Jersey shouldn’t have to pay for the tunnel while New York stands idly by.

“There’s nothing New Jersey hates more than getting screwed by New York,” he said....

Doesn’t read like he refudiated the idea....

Agreed, but it's hard to say whether he did or not, without seeing the video.

When he was running for Gov., the only thing we could get about his stance on immigration was that he was quoted as saying just being here illegally is not illegal, or something similar.

Now that he is Gov, he is quoted saying that we need a clear path to citizenship but not what that means. He also has said things against the AZ law, claiming that only the FED should deal with immigration.

He is anti-second amendment and pro-amnesty, however.

I don't know what his view is on amnesty, but I do remember his views on the 2nd amendment being pretty clear.

He supports strong enforcement of the states current laws, as is, but he believes, in the 2nd amendment, and is not in favor of any more gun control laws.

Thats pretty much the position of the NRA also.

Like I would vote for that fat tub of lard ... a walking heart attack ... only if he had a conservative VP and then I would have to hold my nose.

If this guy is pro immigration, pro cap and trade; etc; he shouldn’t be considered as POTUS. How is he on Obamacare?

Well, it’s needed! Half of the Republicans seem to think that they are the elitist granted the power to serve us peons while the other half thinks that Sarah Palan and her ideas would be best. You can decide - but it’s time to stop putting down the other side (you know, those peons).

America was and will continue to be governed by the people regardless of what the elites (both parties) seem to think...

Yep. He’s the Scott Brown of the month. His talking tough to the teachers unions mat be entertaining, but it is more that than consequential. What he actually has to show for it is minimal, and it probably reveals a jerky personality more than anything.

“Sound the alarm! He wasn’t completely in love with St. Sarah!”

Non-conservatives aren’t. Why sound an alarm?

“Or he might just be tired of 2012 election questions when there’s so much to do right now. Just an alternative thought, though.”

Impossible. Everything that is said must be judged as either unfavorable to Palin or not. /sarc

Yup. After Brown got what he wanted, he threw the Tea Party under the bus.

I’ve already wagered to anyone that Marco Rubio is a potential RINO. No one took my bet. There is no true 100% conservative on the GOP.

I don’t understand the /sarc. It is true. She is dominating politics right now. Quite a trick for a rube from the sticks who is a quitter and a dumb broad. I wonder how she does it?

When the Times comes tomorrow, I will have to read an analysis. /real sarc

Very disrespectful...rolling eyes and laughing?

Real mature way to treat a good person and a Republican like Palin.

He treats Obama with more respect.
