Who cares if they’re black. How is that relevant?
I suppose some will feel it’s great to have blacks join the GOP just as they felt when the RNC got Steele. And that turned out so well. LOL
My thoughts exactly. We don’t need more RINOs. We need more conservatives. RINOs can go the other direction, to the democrats.
It’s relevant for several reasons.
1. The media is the one making it a big deal, to them it is relevant because over 90% of the media votes democrat, and almost all black congressmen are democrat.
2. This means there will be several non-democrat black reps in the House. It will be a big deal because will the Congressional Black Caucus ban them because they aren’t democrat? Not black enough, not mainstream enough?
3. It’s a big deal because it shatters the myth that if you’re black, you’re automatically democrat. You can be a republican and still be ‘authentic’. That’s what the left is sh1tting their pants about.
I’m not so excited about it, but the left sure is. I’m not that excited because I have yet to see just what kind of republican they are, leftist, moderate or conservative. I’ll start having a party if I know they are to the right of ‘moderate’.

You’re reading way too much into it. OUr flaw is we are all short term. The dems have gotten so much the last 70 years by incrementalism. Great victories are great, but there are always more battles afterwards to keep fighting.
And if they stray, they will face a primary...look what happened to the Miss congressman, Parker something..he switched from the Dems early this year, then lost in the GOP primary..
Well ain’t that swell. And how long will it be until they switch back? The republican party doesn’t have enough RINO traitors of its own. Now they have to import democrats!!!

It’s relevant because it demonstrates the continued erosion of yet another demographic (along with working people, Catholics, Jews, “white ethnics,” etc.) Democrats have traditionally taken for granted. In the 1970s, Americans self-identified as more liberal than conservative by something like 60% to 40%. Today, those numbers are reversed. Even among African-Americans, conservative values are now predominant in issues such as abortion, gay marriage and illegal immigration.
