So my work cell phone rings. It's an automated poll. The first question was, "Do you plan to vote in the November 2012 election?". Second question, "If the election were held between New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Barack Obama, would you support Governor Christie?" It didn't ask about any other candidates.
It was pretty much a push poll. It asked if I was a tea party supporter. It asked if I was pro-life. It asked if I supported lower taxes.
Now it may be that this was a "Draft Christie" organization that paid for this poll, without the permission or knowledge of Christie, but I seriously doubt it. Sounds to me like Gov. Christie is a little more interested in running than he claims.
So would he be “forgiven” for quitting his job less than two years after taking it to run?
Darned if I know. I guess in theory he could pretty much complete his term if he ran. It’s been done.
Isn’t he another Republican politician that the left wanted dead?
Well....I might venture to say, maybe it could have been Obama-ites that are testing the waters....Christie was pretty emphatic about not running for prez...he’s got a real job just cleaning up the mess where he lives and he’s fully aware of that. It seems to me that is where his heart his right now!! I wouldn’t put it past the commie libers to hit it from all angles, especially at someone that could be a real contender.
Does he have over $500K worth of personal frivolous lawsuits that he must defend with his own money?
I won’t talk to pollsters unless they agree to pay me for my time. So far no one has!
Hmmm! You got a point! *wink* *wink*
It could be that “they” are trying to push down Christie’s credibility while ostensibly pushing for him; I’m naturally cynical about polls, though.
It could just be that Obama’s really worried about his one-on-one chances against Tea Party favorites. We should see if another poll asks only about Obama against Palin or DeMint or Boehner.
I hope you said no thanks.
Not by me. He's emphatically stated over and over he's not running. We elected him to serve as governor. If he renegs, I wouldn't vote for him--unless Palin was the only other option. Quitter vs quitter, it all evens out in that ugly scenario.
Politicians keep their job all the time to run for another office.
Did McCain step down as a Senator to run for Prez?
Did Jon Cary or BO ?
