Cain Thanks Palin for Publicizing His Column
Time Magazine / RealClearPolitics ^ | February 23, 2011 | Scott Conroy

Herman Cain may be a longshot Republican presidential hopeful, but the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza showed on Tuesday night that he is a savvy enough politician to take advantage of some free publicity from a far more well-known potential GOP contender.

When former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin posted to her Facebook page and her Twitter feed a link to a column that Cain had penned for Investor's Business Daily, the Atlanta businessman responded within minutes to underscore the high-profile exposure by thanking Palin over Twitter and adding an additional link to his piece for anyone who had missed it.

Cain's weekly commentary that Palin publicized was titled "Merely Taking Positions Is Not Leadership" and began with a jab at the press -- a device that Palin is no stranger to employing in her own public comments.

"All the attempts by the media to make stories out of the budget battles going on in Washington, D.C., will not change the bottom line of how it will end up, no matter how many ways they try to create a story," Cain wrote. "Namely, the taxpayers will get stuck with more debt and more taxes again."

Cain went on to chastise President Obama's proposed budget while praising the leadership of Republican governors Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Rick Snyder of Michigan....

But I thought the media said she was all about herself and no one else?

Its the opposite. She (and a very short list of other conservative possible-candidates) have wasted no energy attacking fellow Repubs. She has focused all her fire and ammunition on the Obamists. She sees people like Cain and other conservatives as allies, not rivals. She sees Obama and his gang as her target. She sees anyone helping to stop him as her team-mate to be supported. Guys like Huck and Romney will never get that.

Cain is great. I can imagine him as an excellent press secretary for a conservative pesident. The press would go insane.

“Oh no....Palin/West or Palin/Cain. Decisions decisions!”

Palin/Cain 2010.

Let’s have Rep/Col. West rise to a House leadership position.

It's never going to happen. No name recognition, political experience, ability to raise money, governing experience adds up to no nomination. He might not even beat Duncan Hunter's record of 2008.

I like him a lot, but losing your ability to see clearly over liking him isn't a good thing.

"Let’s hope Sarah chooses to make herself useful and campaign for Herman!"

"Useful?" She went from a PTA mom to governor of our largest and most important oil & gas producing state to vice presidential nominee of the party of Lincoln to having a major hand in winning back the House of Representatives and gaining more seats in the Senate and state capitols all across the country! "Useful?" Why don't you make yourself useful and go blog at Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, Huffington Post or MoveOn? Freacking troll @$$wipe!

It seems to me that a strategy is starting to appear. Sarah Palin will not run as an individual. She will run with a hand selected team of fellow-travellers. They will form a self supporting Juggernaut. The beauty of this strategy is that when one is attacked, the others will defend. That is how the press works. It has worked for them and it will work for Sarah and her team.

A football analogy (apologies to basketball) has Sarah as the quarterback. She needs backs, receivers, and linemen. The coach and the playbook are the founding fathers and the constitution. Watch out, nobody else is even thinking this way.

Well, Ol' Sparky can't post from liberal attack sites any longer if he wants to remain on FR, so now he's demanding comment from Palin on the story about Obama going against DOMA.

Somehow, I sincerely doubt someone like Cain or Bachmann would think highly of Sparky's approch here. Both Bachmann and Cain appreciate the visibility Palin can bring to issues. Which makes one wonder just how conservative Spanrky really is being.

Judging from what I've seen, he might already do that.

He's a lying, deceiving troll, typical of those lib sites.

Hope Sarah makes herself useful? Are you serious??? Most of these Tea Party people WOULD NOT BE IN THE PUBLIC EYE if it weren’t for Sarah and us Tea Party people pushing for Sarah supporting them.

Sarah is as much of the Tea party as we are, she just has more clout. What’s your problem? Do YOU have a Conservative PAC?

Something tells me no, you don’t.
