Former George W. Bush aide Ari Fleischer says Sarah Palin's got no chance in 2012

Ari Fleischer says there's no "way, shape or form" Sarah Palin can lock the Republican nomination.

"I cannot see any way, shape or form that she can win the Republican primary," Fleischer, the former press secretary to President George W. Bush, said as reported by the Idaho Mountain Express.

Fleischer, who was in Ketchum, Idaho to speak as part of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts' Lecture Series, said he'd never seen such a wide open Republican field, but that the former Alaska governor was not among the serious contenders....

Why are you so worried? Wait and see what happens. If nobody likes her, she won’t get the nomination.

And that’s without seeing his picture! If you did, you’d offer him an orchid boutonniere.

I read the article. It was the first time I’ve ever seen it, so thank you for providing it. It seemed like complete doggerel to me. The only part that made my hairs stand on end was where the author alleges that she couldn’t remember Biden’s name and asked if she could call him Joe because of that. Given that he’s been in office for decades, I find that hard to believe. Truth is that to most, Republicans as well as Democrats, Biden is a monument to stupidity. We’ve all heard entirely too much from him. I don’t mind saying that these days, with all that’s going on in Libya and Japan, its a blessing that none of us has heard him bray a single time. I am very conscious of this blessing and thanking heaven for that small mercy.

But again, thank you for the link. If that’s all that you’re basing your fairly low opinion of her on, I would counsel you to check out her petroleum bona fides.

Tony Snow was about 1000 sts of sheer brilliance in that position. May he rest in peace.

I haven’t heard of GWB knocking Palin. Nobody should pay any attention at all to Jeb Bush for having said that the era of Reagan was over. Barbara Bush, well, since she’s unashamed of her big mouth, let me let loose with mine. She’s an overweight, overwrought woman who is not pretty in either her looks or her comportment and would do well to committing herself to looking less like the guy on the Quaker Oats box and leaving us a little silence in which to ponder the miseries of her husband’s presidency.

How about we let the voters decide.

That's what the elite doesn't want. They're used to a humming economy
where nobody notices. Hey RINO's, they've noticed.

A Sarah Palin Republican nomination, with 72% of ALL voters believing that she would NOT be a good President, is Barack Hussein Obama’s “take it to the bank” guarantee of being reelected President in 2012. .... Polybius

Why don’t we just have a campaign and see who wins?..... excopconservative

"Why don’t we just have a campaign and see who wins?"

So, you do not believe that discussing the issues during this pre-convention phase is part of a "campaign"?

Must everybody be in mindless and unquestioning Sarah Palin-Worship Mode until she is nominated by the 40% of the True Believers of a Party that only represents 29% of all voters?

As the Democrat Party becomes more Far-Left, more voters are leaving it to become Independents. Many of the Democrats that remain in the Democrat Party just ADORE Nancy Pelosi. Nancy Pelosi, among all voters, has Unfavorable ratings that are only slightly higher than Sarah Palin's Unfavorable ratings.

If the Nancy Pelosi fanatics had the majority within the minority Democrat Party to ensure the Democrat nomination for Nancy Pelosi, don't you think that it would behoove a Democrat who still has his feet planted in reality to point out that nominating a candidate with stratospheric Unfavorable ratings is probably not the brightest move to make and pretty much guarantess a Political Darwin Award?

"Whadda mean Nancy Pelosi would lose big in the general election. How dare you even question the infallibility of Nancy Pelosi? Why don't we just have a campaign and see who wins?"

You can stick your head in the sand and hide from the Sarah Palin reality if you want to but that reality is not going to go away just because you refuse to acknowledge or even discuss what a political disaster a Sarah Palin nomination would be.

FOX News Poll (February 7-9, 2011)

Question 3: I am going to read you a list of names. Tell me if you think that person would make a good President or not.

Sarah Palin:

.................YES.........NO.......DK.....Never heard of

ALL...........23%.......72%.........4%.......1%

Dem ...........7%........87%........5%.......1%

Rep ...........40%.......56%.......3%.......1%

Ind ...........25%........69%.......3%.......1%

On the other hand, Barbara Bush was one really beautiful woman in her day. I just wish she would stay home and keep her highly government pensioned family the hell out of politics.

Obama will be defeated in 2012. The question is whether his replacement will have the courage to undo the damage he has done and the courage to tackle the budget problems. The replacement also has to have coat tails or skirt tails big enough to bring into office another large group of conservatives. Without a large TEA Party victory in 2012, no matter who we elect, they won’t be able to pass their agenda.

Gov. Palin has the ability to lead us to a big victory for the TEA Party and she has the courage to tackle the big issues even if she has to go against the establishment of her own party. None of the establishment candidates will get the job done this time.

I’m guessing you missed the sarcasm.

No. I did not.

I guess you did not read my entire post. I do not worship at the altar of Sarah Palin so don't assume that I was criticizing you because I believed that you were straying from the Sarah Palin Adoration Party Line.

I know exactly what you meant. You meant the same thing that this liberal meant in 1972:

"How can Nixon have won the election? Nobody I know voted for him." .... Pauline Kael

You surround yourself with those who adore Palin and you assume that the rest of America thinks just like you.

I know that Sarah Palin can win the Republican nomination but I also know that if a minority Party nominates a candidate that 72% of ALL voters have no confidence in, that minority Party will have an electoral defeat of Biblical proportions.

Cult of Personality infatuation does not even work in China any more. Yet the Sarah Palin Adoration Society expects their worship of Sarah Palin to rub off on the rest of America in 2012 when 72% of all American voters believe that she would NOT be a good President.

I also do not believe Sarah Palin would be a good President but not because of what others believe. It is obvious that I do not cater to the majority opinion.

I believe that Sarah Pelin would not be a good President because she has shown herself to be pathetically unprepared for the office.

"Palin couldn't explain why North Korea and South Korea were separate nations. ..... Asked to identify the enemy that her son would be fighting in Iraq, she drew a blank. Later, on the plane, Palin said to her team: 'I wish I'd paid more attention to this stuff'."

Same old song tired song they sang about Reagan, he can’t win.

God was good and gave us Reagan after the Carter years and hope he blesses us again with Palin after O’loser.

Lets just hope/pray that all this trashing by the establishment only encourages Sarah to run.

I hope there are people in her inner circle that are able to encourage her through all this piling on!

God Bless Sarah Palin!!!

If the Dems really wanted to face Palin, they’d call their flying press monkeys off her. Remember how it came out that in ‘08 their plan was to “McCain the Campaign”? The press sucked up to McCain like crazy until he secured the nomination.
