Obama: Donald Trump's birth certificate talk helps me
The Los Angeles Times ^ | April 15, 2011 | James Oliphant

Posted on 04/15/2011 3:37:57 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The public revival of the so-called “birther” question among some Republicans plays to his political advantage, President Obama says.

Obama told ABC News interviewer George Stephanopoulos that Donald Trump and others are doing themselves no favors in persisting on the issue of the president’s background.

“I think that over the last two and a half years there's been an effort to go at me in a way that is politically expedient in the short-term for Republicans, but creates, I think a problem for them when they want to actually run in a general election where most people feel pretty confident the President was born where he says he was, in Hawaii. He doesn't have horns,” Obama said in the ABC interview.

“We may disagree with him on some issues and we may wish that you know, the unemployment rate was coming down faster and we want him to know his plan on gas prices. But we're not really worrying about conspiracy theories or-- or birth certificates. And so-- I-- I think it presents a problem for them.”

For Obama, the birth-certificate sideshow has become a punch line. Speaking at a fundraiser in Chicago Thursday evening, the president said. “I grew up here in Chicago. I wasn’t born here.” The crowd laughed.

“Just want to be clear,” he said. “I was born in Hawaii. But I became a man here in Chicago.”

Meanwhile, Trump is working the question of his GOP presidential aspirations to his full ratings-seeking advantage. He told Bill Carter of the New York Times Thursday that he may make some sort of announcement regarding his political future on his NBC show “Celebrity Apprentice.”

(And, he just got us to mention the show. He’s a genius.)

OK so Obama has spent very little to hide his Birth Certificate (BC). So what is the real reason he will not release it? Why create questions in minds of millions of people?

And why Trump can’t find any records of Obama’s birth in the Hawaiian hospitals? And why has no doctor or nurse or delivery room staff has come forward ascertaining the birth? A mulatto child born to a white woman was not a common occurrence in circa 1961 Hawaii, or was it?

And why no one can see his college records? Why are his writings in college are also hidden? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yeh Barry you look so credible when you start talking about yourself in the 3rd person because if you came right out and said you were born in Hawaii at the Kapiolani Medical Center you would perjure yourself. Trump is your worst nightmare come true. I’ll bet you are out in the Rose Garden right now lighting up the second pack of the day.

What’s disturbing is your ignorance of nearly 100 lawsuits on Zero’s eligibility these past few years, and that hiring top law firms with Constitutional lawyers actually are expense. Imagine that. Yawn.

2 million is a repeated number from years ago. Price tag is conservative $6-10 million easily.

He didn’t say he was born in Hawaii? What exactly did he say?

From the Georgy Snuffleupagus interview.

Obama:

“I think that over the last two and a half years there's been an effort to go at me in a way that is politically expedient in the short-term for Republicans. But [it] creates, I think a problem for them when they want to actually run in a general election where most people feel pretty confident the President was born where he says he was, in Hawaii. He-- he doesn't have horns…we're not really worrying about conspiracy theories or-- or birth certificates,” President Obama told me."

To sum up,
"where most people feel...he says he... He-- he... birth certificate."

No amount of jockeying or maneuvering by either side can change the stubborn fact that OBAMA WON’T RELEASE HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!

Many of us agree with you, but the fact is that the MSM/Left has and will continue to say:   Why, he HAS released his birth certificate, you wacko you.  You try to explain to them the difference between the "COLB" and a LFCOB and their eyes glaze over while they just smile their condescending smile.  Some of them even say something to the effect that folks like Beck, O'Reilly and others disagree and so I should take it up with them!

I can't tell you how many people I've talked to that believes that very thing.  I don't know what it will take to get through to a "critical mass" of the citizenry but apparently we haven't done it yet.

Frankly, I don't think the proof of the matter will become available until some time AFTER Obama is either sent packing in the 2012 elections or is no longer in office, if then.

OK, I gotta say that I love my fellow real conservatives, but Glenn Beck’s right: you gotta get off this non-issue.

Not only is it just plain wrong (Google the two newspaper birth announcements if you doubt it), but it’s also stupid and counterproductive to boot.

When you pursue this issue, you hand Obama a huge advantage — it makes you look crazy and him seem like the victim.

There are too many real reasons to object to this Socialist President, IMHO.

Whoa....FReepers such as you need to step back and take a look at the bigger picture, and take your fingers off the "I read it on the internet" trigger.

FR is becoming an embarrassment due to posts exactly like yours. What a damn shame. Unfortunately, Jim seems to feel no need to reign this idiocy in.....sad.

We're being set up, and swallowing it hook line and sinker.....I'm surprised (and dismayed) that JR hasn't popped wise to this Red Herring yet.

Here’s on listing of money spent. There are dozens of lawsuits:

http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=95772

DNC is picking up the tab. Democrat donor money is going to pay to defend the suits rather than Obama spending $10 to get the long form birth certificate.

Shouldn’t DEMOCRATS be asking why money is being wasted on this “kooky conspiracy”?

Hawaiian law allows for an application by a relative (say grandmother) for a child born “without the state or territory” and a birth certificate is issues. It would then be picked up by the newspaper or newspapers will run listings if you... drop by and tell them. I did one for my child. It proves NOTHING.

Obama can’t show us the long form because it would list the actual location of his birth (which could have been out of the country) and would list his actual parents. Obama may have been born with a different name (Steven Dunham has been suggested) and changed it for religious reasons later in life.

Chris Matthews and now John King are asking why Obama just won’t clear up this “kooky conspiracy” theory. Democrats are wondering why $2,000,000 dollars in campaign money is being used to defend this obviously nutty theory by shutting down cases on other issues, such as standing.

Even the Certificate of Live Birth has only been shown on Obama’s friend, FactCheck (he was on the board of the fund that pays for FactCheck) in photographs. No forensic document examiner has ever been given the chance to check out this document. It has never been introduced in a court of law.

Most recently someone obtained Obama’s Selective Service Registration Card. The Social Security Number Obama used on this card began with 042 — meaning he was born in the state of Connecticut.

Word went out that the FCC would be all over any broadcaster (Fox, Beck, BOR) if they brought up the “birther” issues. So they caved.

Good litmus test for Republican candidates: if they are unwilling to talk about Obama’s past it means they are in the tank, have no balls, and should be rejected as incapable of running a campaign that’ll take on Obama.

Certainly are a lot of trolls on here visiting these threads. Try again somewhere else. We know the facts and time is running out on Zero.

THERE IS A CANCER GROWING ON THE PRESIDENCY.

The way Trump is doing it is fine with me. He doesn’t claim anything, because there’s not much we actually have to claim. Asking the question is reasonable though, and calling out the community-organizer-in-chief for not only dismissing something which is a legitimate concern in our country, but is up there on the list of his hypocrisies for what he promised would be the most transparent administration ever.

There are more questions than regarding his birth certificate. There are questions regarding whether he has Indonesian citizenship, the lesser question of what his legal name actually is, the more important questions around his alleged multiple Social Security Numbers, whether he attended American universities as a foreign student, whether his Harvard education was paid for by the Saudi royal family. All of these are relevant to the trust he’s asking people to put in him as our president. They should have been asked in 2007 and 2008 but they weren’t. The birth issue itself isn’t even of right wing origin - it was brought to court initially by someone in Hilary Clinton’s campaign.

Glenn Beck’s right about many things, but he’s not right about this. Maybe he doesn’t fully understand what falls under the term used to deride people asking the question.

Trump doesn’t look crazy - he’s up 9 points above every other person in polls for the Republican nomination. People want to know what’s going on. It doesn’t seem like the current president is being completely honest about everything in his background. If it were just the embarrassment of his father not being named on it, or something like that, people would understand and get over it. But there’s a man sitting in military prison now as I type this who demanded further proof his commander in chief was eligible to command him and would have been avoided - he’d be with the rest of his unit now serving, if the original birth certificate were just shown. If you had someone under your command and all you had to do to keep them out of prison was to show your birth certificate, what would you as an American do? Part of the problem is that the office-holder’s contempt for America could be seen also in his contempt for this. If you asked him and most of his supporters whether it should matter if he were indeed born in Kenya, he and most of them are likely to say no. So their obfuscation is in part disrespect for laws they don’t agree with, though many of them at least go through the motions of swearing to uphold them.

And that brings me to what you’re saying about his socialist policies, because that’s in the same continuum. Socialist sense of entitlement is in feeling the law is what you say it is, what other people have should also be yours, that the world shouldn’t have borders, and so on. It all fits in to this.

You can focus on more than one thing. Or if you can’t, if Beck can’t, then he and you can leave other people to focus on other important things while you focus on what you’re more comfortable focusing on. Focusing on his socialism is part of it, focusing on the horrible things he’s done. But when trying to explain his incompetence combined with his malevolence, knowing how foreign he really is is important, knowing about his academic and legal achievement too. That’s what’s hidden from view as well by executive order. As far as I know, this is unique in American presidential history.

No advantage is actually handed to the office-holder by asking these questions. He claims it is, but do you trust him on other things? That should be significant. He no longer is able to dismiss it as fringe craziness because it never was, but it worked to for a while. The more people know about this issue, the more they want answers from him. That’s why sweeping it under the rug by attaching a stigma to anyone who dared to ask the question was their strategy. It hasn’t worked.

He is trying to pull a reverse Burr Rabbit. "Please talk about the birther issue, it really helps me!"

I think this is what the RINOs have been fearing and now Barry's strategist have picked up on it as a last defense. Never mind that millions just want to know that he is eligible, he is who he says he is, and he can prove it.

It's been fascinating reading these birther threads, because you get to see how these Internet rumors start from nothing and get repeated in this echo chamber until everyone thinks it's a fact.

A recent example is the Jean Paul Ludwig story, which was incredibly stupid, but passed around as fact for a while.

You get off the issue. We want to see the Won’s birth certificate and all of his hidden records. We want to see the same dirt the MSM would not hesitate to go after with every resource available to them if it were Palin instead of 0bama. We want to see them question 0bama for once and prove to us that we are wrong. Plus, I don’t like being called crazy when I am right.

"Whoa....FReepers such as you need to step back and take a look at the bigger picture, and take your fingers off the "I read it on the internet" trigger."

I read this on the internet. It proves beyond a doubt that Barry Dunham Soettero - aka Barack Hussein Obama is NOT a natural born Citizen:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the process of developing a new U.S. Constitution Alexander Hamilton submitted a suggested draft for a Constitution on June 18, 1787. He also submitted to the framers a proposal for the qualification requirements in Article II as to the necessary Citizenship status for the office of President and Commander in Chief of the Military.

Alexander Hamilton’s suggested presidential eligibility clause:

"No person shall be eligible to the office of President of the United States unless he be now a Citizen of one of the States, or hereafter be born a Citizen of the United States."

John Jay wrote in a letter to George Washington dated 25 Jul 1787:

"Permit me to hint, whether it would be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government; and to declare expressly that the Commander in Chief of the American army shall not be given to nor devolve on, any but a natural born Citizen. "

Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of U.S. Constitution as adopted 17 Sep 1787:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."
