Romney Backs Obama on bin Laden Photos

While some potential Republican presidential candidates have criticized President Barack Obama’s decision not to release photos of Osama bin Laden's dead body, presumed frontrunner Mitt Romney agrees with the president.

"It's best not to release the photo because it has the potential to incite retaliatory violence against Americans," Romney said in a statement to Politico.

That was the same point made by Obama....

It seems that the issue has become a moot point.

Al Qaeda confirms bin Laden death and vows revenge

Obama allowed al Qaeda to be able to choose if Osama bin Ladin was going to be a Martyr or the Islamist version of D. B. Cooper.

After Obama left the ball in their court, al Qaeda made their choice and Osama is now officially a Martyr.

A death photo would provide al Qaeda an object of veneration. Now that al Qaeda has chosen the Martyr route, it is best to deny it to them and I have to side with Obama's current position.

Mitt, unless we are all idiots, we don’t need to bother appeasing the nutjobs out there. These guys produce propaganda, it’s their hobby. They can produce however many excuses they wish for what they do, even if these photos didn’t ever get released, they would still hate us. It’s one thing when a guy is a RINO, but it’s far worse when the guy has little to no spine for dealing with the reality of what has happened. It’s history. Just because the Holocaust was offensive and gruesome didn’t mean that we didn’t have to see that. We got to see people falling and burning from the World Trade Center as well. Hey, we also had the documentation of Saddam getting caught, his sons pumped full of lead, and himself getting hanged, what’s any different. Even moreso is the fact that the world acknowledges that bin Laden is in fact, dead, if you released the photos, it’s not as if they didn’t already know he was killed by a bullet, or the compound raided, etc.

As for terrorism, it’s a fact of life that we will have it with us, so we’re going to have to learn how to have a spine for the foreseeable future.
