HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - A new poll shows Pennsylvania Republicans favor Newt Gingrich as the GOP Presidential nominee.
In the Susquehanna Polling and Research poll released Tuesday, the former House Speaker has a 17-point lead over former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.
In a hypothetical match-up with Republican voters, Gingrich leads the race with 35 percent, followed by Romney with 18 percent.
Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was the favorite among 18 percent of voters, while eight percent said they planned to vote for former Texas congressman Ron Paul.
Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachman received six percent of the vote and Texas governor Rick Perry received two percent of the vote.
Fourteen percent said they are still undecided.
The automated telephone poll of 1,106 registered Republican voters was conducted December 7-11 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.95 percent.
Good news for Newt. If Rick can’t connect with the voters in is home state how is he going to do it nationally? I think Newts ability to bypass the msm and connect directly with the voter is what is needed in this election. Newt will take it to Obama.
Gingrich has got to get the ground game going, especially in FL and SC or he is dead...

Pointless poll. If Newt doesn’t win in the early states, he isn’t going to get anywhere here in PA. Our Primary is 3 days before the convention it is so late. Whoever is the frontrunner at the time of the Primary will win here.
Pennsylvania is always picking from the leftovers... or the survivors, whichever way you prefer to look at it.
