Michele Bachmann's campaign is in last place and she will be the first one out
The Examiner ^ | January 3, 2012 | John Presta

Michele Bachmann had high hopes going into this Presidential campaign. She saw herself as the second coming of Sarah Palin. A new and improved version of Sarah Palin. Unfortunately, Bachmann is not a new Sarah Palin nor an improved Sarah Palin.

Michele Bachmann is in last place in most of the polling.

Every recent poll put Bachmann in last place heading into the caucuses, a far cry from her summer win in a state GOP straw poll. But top campaign advisers vowed she would prove the recent surveys wrong by activating a support network built through her visits to small towns and churches in every corner of Iowa...

--snip--

...Bachmann vows to stay in the campaign, but that is not realistic and the fact is she will likely be the first to hold a press conference to announce the end of her campaign.

At that press conference Bachmann will say some nice things about Mitt Romney, because Bachmann has high hopes of being his Vice-Presidential nominee.

Yes, that Sarah Palin thing again. The good news (and for us Democrats the bad news) is that Mitt Romney is much too smart to name Bachmann as his nominee....

Perhaps a bit, but 2007-2011 seems to belay your argument, don’t you think? Was there anything they wouldn’t do or say to puff up Barry or attack Sarah? Example A: Tucson. Example B: 24,000 e-mails and “crowdsourcing” them.

I have NO ill-will for Palin. The ONLY reason I voted the GOP ticket in 2008 was because of her. Palin had a Conservative faction, voice, power, future. She wasted it. Not blaming her. After what the media did to her I completely understand. But we needed her. She was the ONE and only unifying Conservative political figure who made Obambi wet his homo thong.

Now, her approval or endorsement is null and void (for me). I know many of you hinge on every word or tweet she sends. Not me. If I think it SHOULD be Bachmann's time, I'll gladly write her in on the PA ballot. I will NOT EVER vote for Mittens. Not in the Primary and NOT in the General. The GOP can shove Mittens right up their collective asses! No more. No more money. No more votes! Period.

What, The Donald? Disingenuous? Say it ain't so.

Didn't they have a dust up a couple of months ago when she said something catty about him and he shot back she had been calling him regularly for advice?

It used to be that the smug know-it-all who everyone figured out was full of crap would end up sitting by himself at the end of the bar. In the internet age he ends up blogging for The Examiner.

I don’t think that Bachmann has an interest in the VP slot. I believe that she is the head of the Tea Party Caucus in the House. She should campaign for House members and shore up Tea Party strength to battle Obama or Mitt, or if we can manage a conservative Whitehouse, she will be in a great position to push forward her agenda.

“She saw herself as the second coming of Sarah Palin”

There never was a ‘first’ coming of SP.

Bachmann may end up having money problems if she seeks reelection. IIRC, she transferred a pretty large chunk from her congressional stash (granted, I don't know how much she had before the transfer) and has managed to piss off a lot of the people she will need to help replenish it.

Really? So McCain picked Liebermann as his running mate in 2008? My memory must be out of whack...

I think at the very least, we need to wait to see tonight’s results. Heck when did polls become important all of a sudden? I am thrilled that Santorum seems to be doing well, but again not one caucus vote given yet.

and I’m referring to the current election cycle.

What has she done for me lately? The answer is NOTHING!

Why is that a pissant comment? Palin endorsed McCain for Senate. She’s proven that she’s “political” and will take the expedient route that politicians often do.

And whats with the “newbie” crack? Do you measure peoples opinions by how long they’ve been registered? How... mature.

Sitting around waiting for someone to do something for you?

Doesn't sound very conservative to me.

Neither does spending millions of other people's money in a mindless, futile pursuit of power. Boy Perry should set the conservative example and drop out.
