Report: Jeb Bush likely to endorse Romney before Florida primary

Surprising. The odds of this happening, given the Bush family’s antipathy to Gingrich and Perry, couldn’t have been much higher than 98 or 99 percent.

Second look at political dynasties backing establishment candidates?

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush plans to endorse former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney before the Jan. 31 Florida primary, a Florida GOP source close to Bush told BuzzFeed Thursday.

The endorsement from Bush, who despite prodding from members of his famous family and prominent Republicans decided to sit out the 2012 contest, is the latest sign that the Republican establishment is coalescing around Romney after months publicly griping about finding another candidate…

The Florida Herald-Tribune reported yesterday that First Lady Laura Bush told a Sunshine State audience this week that her husband “and I wish he would [run for president.] We wanted him to this time.”

If there’s any significance to this scoop, that’s it — that the odds of Jeb jumping in late to shake up the race have now declined from a fraction of one percent to absolute zero. I want more details on the timing, though. It makes no sense for Bush to wait until after South Carolina to endorse Romney since Romney’s almost certainly going to win Florida regardless. He leads there in all the recent polls, one of which has him up by more than 20 points, and he’s probably the only candidate in the field who can afford the huge expense of a sustained ad campaign there. Unless Sheldon Adelson’s ready to pour millions more into Newt’s Super PAC, Mitt might be able to lose South Carolina to Newt and still bounce back to win Florida. If he’s got Jeb’s endorsement, he should roll it out a day or two before SC votes in hopes of pulling some moderates away from Huntsman and squeaking past Newt to wrap up the nomination. Having Bush stump for him there would also make for a sweet complement to the support he’s getting from DeMint’s more conservative allies, including praise — if not a formal endorsement — from DeMint himself.

Here’s Jeb with Piers Morgan back in October talking about how “consistent” Romney is, which must be the first term any human has said that ever. Beneath that,

One thing for sure. 2012 will be known as the year of weeding out the fake conservatives.

Not that Jeb was ever suspected of being one in the first place.

Tremendous lobbying is going on in secret. Money, blackmail, threats. We cannot even imagine.

After Reagan left, we have had a steady flow of friends and family in the WH.

If you don't belong, your not going to get the keys to the door.

Boy, have you got that wrong!

The Fake Conservative list is growing.

We don't hate them, we do detest their bad choices and it confirms for many of us who bother to pay attention, what we already thought was the case.

There never was a huge difference between the politics and polices of Bush 1 & 2, Clinton, or Obama for that matter. It's all about Who's Turn to be King for four years? Bush Precedents and GOP Congressional ENABLERS set the way for the crisis of today and the complete abandonment of the U.S. Constitution by congress and presidents following Reagan.

We knew and expected that the DEMs would sell out our nation and abandon the Constitution. However the GOP is as bad now if not worse than the DEMs. The reason is this. The GOP pretends to be what it hasn't been in over two decades. The DEMs make no pretense they are nothing more than socalist.

Its is all about Jeb in 2016 and the Blue Bloods will claim that Mittens lost because he was too Conservative and that only a moderate govern like Jeb can win in 2016, right!

Prior posting about Bain Capital being consulted by obama admin on the GM re-structure. For REAL. And completely unreal. We have obama because we had bush2. We had clinton because we had bush 1.

Bush 1 no matter how you slice it, was RINO city. His one term presidency consisted of unravelling Reagan. And NEWT got in his way big time.

No surprise here. There is a cartel running this country and it is NOT Conservative. And Romney will lose to obama, there is simply too much there for them to work with.

One Big (incestuous) Happy Family!!

This is taking on more and more of a veneer of the 1980 GOP primaries, Bush vs. The Good Guy dimension. (Although Good Guy this time is unfortunately split between several conservative candidates).

And they even made room in the New World Order for Marxist Communists who are destroying our Constitution and system of government. How do the Bushes account for that? HMMM.

What is it... HAAHHVAHD makes it all right.

Jeb Bush could no more run for President than the man in the moon. His wife (Mexican elitist and super class conscious), his daughter a drug addict of the first order.

There is a thread running through all of this. And it starts with Manuel Noriega. Dare one say— cocaine politics.
I’m serious. You have to remember GHW Bush was CIA director too. There are way too many of these “smart” hands in the pie. And their investment banker buddies, like Romney. This New World Order is the real problem. And they NEVER liked Reagan either. I miss Reagan.

The last patriots who knew who the commies were, were Reagan and William Casey (CIA director) who came from the days of clarity in the OSS. Who are the real patriots now?

Buffy Biff and Mittens. Class of complete no clue. Out of touch for more than 25 years.

These are scary times, and perhaps the last of our Republic.

I am so sick of all of these people. Cowboy hats, argyle socks, and the halls of ivy morons. And now, Mittens.

The New World Order. Ronaldus Magnus where is YOUR heir?

It has to be us— not these Anglophile police state idiots.
