The Big Switch (Hillary to replace Joe?)
American Thinker ^ | January 14, 2012 | Albin Sadar

Posted on 01/14/2012 8:09:32 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Now that the 2008 idea to "make history by voting for the first African-American president" is yesterday's news, what will be done to spice up the current election season? Two more white guys running on the Republican side? Not a chance. But a woman as a running mate for the Democrats? Now, that could do it. And not just any woman, but the woman who was left high and dry the last time around. The woman currently ranked more popular than Oprah. Yes, a "reluctant," hope-we-can-convince-her Hillary Clinton.

And, best of all, having Hillary replace Joe Biden on the ticket would be the perfect way for a do-over, a way for voters to atone, to collectively tell Hillary: "We're sorry!" Many are regretting that Hillary didn't get the nod for the top spot four years back. Now they'll be perfectly willing to enhance their race-oriented vote of 2008 with a gender-targeted one in 2012, even if it does mean resigning Mrs. Clinton to second chair.

On Bill O'Reilly's show a few nights back, a couple of pundits were arguing that replacing Joe Biden on the ticket would be tantamount to the Democrats admitting that the Obama/Biden ticket is in trouble. Although true, these pundits failed to realize that the yellow-stream media would spin a Biden jettison in a positive way. He's graciously taking one for the team, they'd say, and, pointing to his long and noble years of public service, they'd tout his well-deserved, well-earned retirement.

These same O'Reilly analysts also asked, "Why would Hillary want to leave her current role as secretary of state? It's a terrific position of power and influence." But what is the truest desire of both Hillary and Bill Clinton? The historic First Female President trophy....

Or before the term is up, if I know the Clintons.

With Hillary, Obama may have coat-tails.
If they trash Romney enough, Mitt may have negative coat-tails.

The odds are against it, but I see the possibility of a big Obama win, with Democrat control of the House and Senate.

So what does Hillary gain from this? If she is VP she still has to wait 4 more years to run for president. Will the country give the dems 12 years in a row?
If Obama/Hillary ticket loses she will be tainted (because she was placed on the ticket to help elect Obama).
Would Obama want her on the ticket? That would make him look weak having to have a woman save his presidency. Also he would always have to deal with Bill and Hillary stealing his spotlight.

You’re assuming that Mr. Obama would make it through his second term. I wouldn’t bet the farm on that one.

Eh...it’s a possibility, I suppose. I just don’t think it all that likely.

The election is only a little over 9 months away, and I can’t foresee a graceful exit strategy for Biden. I see a huge potential for backlash - Joe’s good enough to be veep for 3 years but all of a sudden it has to be Hillary? Or, Hil wasn’t good enough in 2008 but now she’s okay? Obama would be wide open to criticism on his judgment and a host of other areas.

Beyond that, I think Hillary has her own plans for 2016.

Hildegarde is planning to run in 2016, and if Mittens by some hellish miracle wins this Nov, she’s in!

I think it’s only a matter of time...Biden is less than useless to the Obama Regime. I don’t see Hillary unless Obama feels he is in terrible trouble(ie Romney not getting the nomination). Bev. Purdue is another useless idiot that could be VP and maybe help sway NC.....

I don’t think there is much of a downside for Hillary.

She gets on the ticket and they win, she begins to campaign for 2016 on day one of the second term and would be a lock for the 2016 nomination.

They lose, she can blame Obama for the loss and she would be a lock for the 2016 nomination.

Thanks 2ndDivisionVet. The only reason they’d make the switch is if they suspect that Zero won’t be eligible to run. Otherwise I think this is just the same teaser that goes up every so often.

Agreed. Obama wouldn’t last three months before Hitlery took the Presidency.

Lets encourage Hillary! With her as VP how long will Obama Last???? Its one way to blast him out of the White House. Old Barry might be taking a little trip to the park. What McCain couldn’t do, or Mittens, Hillary might accomplish.
