Im a Florida tea-partier, and will not vote for romney in the general election, if he is the nominee. I will vote, but “will throw my vote away”, and write in someone (probably Palin).

Then the day after the election, will officially change my voter registration from republican.

To sum it up: if romney is the nominee, I leave the republican party.

“I see a Romney nomination causing Tea Partiers like me to tune out. We are already disheartened by the congressional leadership. Romney will be the final nail in the coffin.”

EXCELLENT observations Rebecca. The establishment RINO GOP has seen the Tea Party as a threat. What they don't realize is that it was their ticket to regaining the leadership of the nation. With Romney, they are screwing the Tea Party and the result will be the demise of their Party. They have significantly and probably permanently divided their base.

I too want a third party NOW. The GOP can stick it!

Sounds like she's channeling me - frustration. But progressives have been pushing us to the left for decades. We can't expect to turn things around in a couple years. We got a whole lot of pushin back to do. Stay in the fight!

For the third time here at FR: May God strike me dead before I ever cast a vote for Mitt Romney.
It’s never gonna happen.
I will NOT reward the scumbag GOP establishment elite and their accidental brothers-in-arms, the Democrat newsrooms, with my vote. Never.

"If I don't feel like I'm making a difference, where is my incentive to take that time from them?" Rebecca asks.

Which is exactly what they want.

I’ve already tuned out. Newt is no better than Mitt. I don’t understand why people think he is. All I can think of is its the catholic people who think so, purely for religious reasons.

My concern is that the Tea Party will recoil from supporting a Republican Party that is headed by John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and Mitt Romney.

Ought to be more than a 'concern', Ben. One, two, three strikes, you're OUT.

"I almost feel as though there needs to be a new party, a truly conservative party, that really represents us. Sometimes I feel like the GOP is more interested in protecting their jobs than in promoting conservative ideals.

Throw out the "almost" and "sometimes" qualifiers and this just about sums it up for me. I won't be voting for Romney. There are some people worthy of respect in the GOP but by and large it's devolved into a gaggle of unprincipled, power-hungry opportunists who barely bother to disguise their contempt for their constituents and conservatism. We need a genuine conservative political party in this country.

The top priority in the 2012 election is to take control of the Senate away from the Democrats.

After becoming dismayed and feeling betrayed by the R-Establishment over the last month of the primary, the next priority is changing. I'm not sure yet what it will be, but I can offer the following talking points to sort out (for myself):

1 - stop watching FOXNEWS, they can't be trusted any more, and stop following all the attack dogs who went after Gingrich (I won't forget or forgive on this)

2 - redouble efforts to support the Tea Party and GOOOH and push my local TP group to become more anti-Republican than they already are

3 - Vote for John Galt for Pres in the 2012 election

4 - start searching for like minded people who want to divorce themselves from any outside control by large groups, whether political, religious, government, unions, or corporations, consider forming a "Galt's Gulch Group" that has the ability to offer the needed insulation and self-sufficiency

I’d vote for Romney if he was the nominee...or Gingrich, or Santorum, or Ron Paul.

Hell I’d probably even vote Hillary if it meant we could get that America hating Marxist Communist out of office

It was decided some time ago that neither OldPossum and Mrs. OldPossum would vote for Romney. We recognize disaster when we see it.

But we will vote for Republicans downticket with the exception of that RINO Eric Cantor. Another one that turns our stomachs.

Write in whomever for the top slot.
From there on down vote for true conservatives or write in true conservatives.
The solution really comes from the bottom up. Take the precinct or ward, take the city, take the county, take the state. You’ve seen what you get from the top down.
By then the Republican establishment will wonder what hit them.
The only bad action is inaction!

My primary concern in the 2012 election is the Congress, focusing on the Senate (21 Democraps are up for re-election).

All the Socialist legislative intiatives that CZAR B.O. signed into law were passed in both houses of the Congress, by the Democrap Party.

I believe too much Credit/Blame is given to CZAR B.O. A strong Congress is more achievable than winning the presidency, given the modiocrity of the Republican Leadership. They merely want to "Get along" with the other side of the aisle and the MSM!

I have said many times at FR that I won’t vote for Romney. I am glad to see others truly won’t either.

I’m a registered non-party person. I have no loyalty to the GOP. I will vote down ticket all conservative and either skip the Prez. or write in a name. I saw someone say Gone Galt. That is humorous, and might be an appropriate message.

Will 4 years of Romney be an improvement over 4 more with Obama? That is assuming that down ticket stays in the direction of Nov. 2010. With Romney as front, it won’t. Too many discouraged and apathetic voters. Also, that is assuming that Romney can beat Obama. He can’t. He’s too rich and too Mormon— Obama will use those two facts and take him down faster than the Titanic.

Solution:

First— we fight now, and we fight hard. Time for all hands on deck. Who are your contacts in the current primary state? For me, I can contact like-minded church organizations. Point out the problems with a Romney nomination. Facebook everyday why Romney is a bad choice. Join Twitter. I don’t want to, but it’s a must. Get your message to the media via twitter. Tell MSM you aren’t going to control us. Move on to the next state and the next and keep contacting, facebooking and twittering and even blogging! Attack Mitt with the full force of the conservative voice. If every conservative influences just their own circle of influence, Mitt is out. WE HAVE NOT BEEN DOING THIS.

Second— let the primary run it’s course. I wish Perry had not dropped out. I wish he’d get back in. I wasn’t his supporter but we need lots of choices. it keeps the message alive and takes votes AWAY FROM Romney. That’s the goal at this point! Keep votes away from Romney!!! So we need to support all conservatives. I will vote for Santorum in my primary, but in my advocating, I am advocating AWAY from Romney.

Third— if Romney gets the nom. we’ll all have to follow our heart at that point. It is important that we don’t butcher other conservatives and keep trying to win the message. The alternative is civil war. I don’t want that option. I want to give the political process a chance. It might take 50 years, but it is an investment worth making.

That’s my two cents-— well maybe it was more like 10 cents-— but anyway. FWIW
