Santorum: 'I Want to Endanger Newt'
Fox News ^ | February 4, 2012 | Nick Kalman

MONTROSE, CO - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum took a new jab at Newt Gingrich, saying he wants to "endanger" the former Speaker.

The dig came during a campaign rally in Montrose, CO., as Santorum railed against the federal government's environmental regulations.

"These are your lands! Oh but they always say we're doing it for your benefit," Santorum decried.

"We'll make sure that you don't do something to scar the land or you don't do something to endanger a newt. No not that Newt, different newt. I want to endanger that Newt - that's a different story."

The line drew laughter from the audience but Santorum has been serious in sharpening his attacks on Gingrich in recent weeks....

This loser is getting on my last nerve. Talk about a freaking Narcissist. I want to barf when he starts talking about his family with his stupid sweater on. The man is insipid and lacks any shred of charisma. He looks like he has burr up his patoot half of the time.

Ricky is a big time loser who could not win his own Senate seat back because of the reasons mentioned above. He is a professional politician who misses those paychecks and the power he wielded. GO HOME YOU LITTLE PUTZ!!!

"Running for vice president?"

I doubt it, Romney seems to have is heart set on Rubio as the VP choice. The most likely explanation is that, as a solid family values conservative, he loathes the possibility of conservatism being defined by someone like Newt Gingrich.

It might very well be what ends up happening but it’s not very strategic. Santorum certainly won’t have the effect Palin had on the conservative base which got conservatives, like myself, to vote for a candidate they detested. (McCain). He may pull in a small amount of the social conservatives but not enough to make the difference. If it is Mitt/Santorum —I fear they may lose worse than McCain to Obama.

I can guarentee that Santorum is not going to become VP. Romney will use him and then drop him.

At best, Santorum will get some help when running for office again. A favoured son in a favoured district, but that is all.

Hopefully, where Santorum does run, the people won’t elect him.

The sanctimonious loser already lost PA senate seat by a landslide. Ricky "SOPA" Santorum the collectivist big government statist.
"This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I don’t think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can’t go it alone." [source]

"What was my vision? I came to the uncomfortable realization that conservatives were not only reluctant to spend government dollars on the poor, they hadn’t even thought much about what might work better. I often describe my conservative colleagues during this time as simply ‘cheap liberals.’ My own economically modest personal background and my faith had taught me to care for those who are less fortunate, but I too had not yet given much thought to the proper role of government in this mission." –Rick Santorum, p. IX It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)

"I suspect some will dismiss my ideas as just an extended version of ‘compassionate conservatism.’ Some will reject what I have said as a kind of ‘Big Government Conservatism.’ Some will say that what I’ve tried to argue isn’t conservatism at all. But I believe what I’ve been presenting is the genuine conservatism our Founders envisioned. One that fosters the opportunity for all Americans to live as we are called to live, in selfless families that contribute to the general welfare, the common good." –Rick Santorum, p. 421 It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)

"If you're a conservative, there really is only one place to go right now. I would even argue farther than that. If you're a Republican, if you're a Republican in the broadest sense, there is only one place to go right now and that's Mitt Romney." –Rick Santorum, 02/1/2008 [source]
zz Check out his brochure, 50 Things You Didn't Know About Rick Santorum, where he proudly defends food stamps, increasing minimum wage, stem cell harvesting, college tuition subsidies, bloated school funding, working with Bono to fight world poverty, etc.

Also see his disturbing voting record for more doozies.

Ground zero for animal worshipers, radical environmentalists (socialist NIMBYs all)—lefties of every political stripe. There’s probably about a handful of honest conservatives in the whole State.

If (horrors) romney wins the nomination, romney will try to find a glamour VP to do for him what Sarah Palin did for McCain. He has to try to find the fractured angry base who hate him a reason to support him, and Santorum is no Sarah Palin.

This time, however, I don't think there is a Sarah Palin out there who can make Romney palatable to the majority of the GOP. His big selling point at this point is his “electability” and has time goes on, that is really going to wear thin.

Santorum only pretends to be anti-abortion. His record of running interference on behalf of pro-abort liberals like Specter and Romney tells the real story.
