Poll: Did Ann Romney change your view of Mitt Romney?
The New Orleans Times-Picayune ^ | August 28, 2012 | Lauren W. List

Posted on 08/28/2012 9:55:08 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, spoke to the Republican National Convention about the former Massachusetts governor not as a politician, but as a husband and father.

She told the crowd and a prime-time audience about their 43-year marriage, one of real struggles and experiences, including her battles with multiple sclerosis and breast cancer, and nothing of the storybook tale that people imagine. Ann Romney also talked about his role as a father to five sons, and grandfather to 18 grand-kids

The GOP hoped her speech would help undecided and other voters (especially women) better relate to Mitt Romney as an everyday man instead of a corporate and political insider...

Yes, I used to think Mutt was a liberal globalist traitor but now I think he’s a conservative patriot with our best interests at heart because his wife made an emotional speech.

However God is well pleased with the quality time you spend here on FR spewing RDS hatred... right?

Anne didn’t have a job but she was working more than 40 hours a week for her church. IIRC she ran all the charitable works of her church, something that took considerable skill and energy.

Even if you think Anne’s a slouch - imagine the reaction from Michelle to be displaced by a small, attractive, blonde!! I can’t wait!

Powder..patch..ball FIRE!

I will vote for Mitt Romney this fall to keep O from doing any more damage, while continuing to support conservative candidates for congress and senate. Four more years of O will make this country unlivable.

I'm waiting to see if moochie stoops down to making direct comments about romney's wife. That's about all I'm really interested in seeing.

I'll vote romney despite all my previous vitriol against him.

When he's elected, we'll have a whole new fight on our hands. I'll take that mess any day over the current one.

Obama's a "scorched earth" guy if I ever saw one. He won't give up power willingly. This is going to be uglier than we can imagine.

I get the feeling she won’t be telling us how to eat and what to feed our children. She has more faith in us than Moochelle the Moocher.

(Wow, that Cab Calloway song just pop into my head. DFU where are you.)

I am not suggesting she is a slouch. Are you suggesting she has worked 40 hours a week, every week since she was in college for her Church? My comment was that it is hard to relate to a couple that are married , attending college have their own apt. have a family ,buy a home all without neither one having a job. It seem a little odd to complain about not having a kitchen table. I know she was trying to have women relate to her but doing without a kitchen table and having to cash in stock is not most peoples hard times. A little out of touch.

Did you forget about RomneyCare which provides for taxpayer funded abortions, birth control and sterilization. Did you forget that Romney is the father of gay marriage, and gay adoptions But his wife is an attractive woman and a good speaker.

I don’t know her entire history. I do however know someone who knows her. My friend is a Mormon and has been in the same church (temple?) with her for years. (They also go to the same hairdresser.)

According to my friend, she said that Ann is a very hard worker who worked day and night running their many charitable projects. She was very positive, very organized and got things done. She was really well liked by just about everyone but she had to resign when she got sick. My friend thinks very highly of her. BTW - my friend is a big liberal. She likes Ann but she’s not sure she likes her husband’s politics. Thinks he is much too conservative. LOL

That’s all I know of Ann. What I am waiting for is a picture of Michelle’s face and she tries to smile at a blonde lady if/when the Obamas have to leave the White House.

"She is the wife that will make America be great again."

Geez, really? Look, I readily admit that Ann Romney gave a very good speech last night, and that she likely gave her husband a bump. No surprise. And I thought the red silk dress was stunning, but that's irrelevant. However, this country has kicked God out of the public square for a long time now. It has embraced abortion and homosexuality, just as Romney does. No politician, nor politician's wife, can save America. The only way to save the country is repentance, and turning to Christ.

This poster opened the door to secular politics and religion, so please, Romney fans, so let me answer One Name. -------------

Politics is secular.

Mormons, as a group are profoundly Conservative. pro-family, pro- industry ( both personal and collective)- they take care of their own, etc

------------- You can't have it both ways. Politics is secular & then talk of the wonderful group Mormons are. It's hypocritical. But since YOU opened the door to faith.... His church is pro-life? Depends on which statement you choose, because he says both. His church, just like Romney, they play on both sides of the fence. He says he's prolife but he targets innocent babies whose fathers are criminal. I know that is not 100% pro-life. He and gop destroyed and cheated those who were truly 100% prolife. His church supposedly is prolife but in an interview with romney he talks like the lawyer he is and says the church is not against abortion and then says they are??? You figure it out. Doesn't matter because the prophets in the church change what is right and wrong all the time, depending on what they want. They have a pro-abortion candidate running, then they are pro-abortion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFkaCji-UDA&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Conservative? Is gay adoption conservative? He also will go back to gay marriage and blame it on the judge HE appoints. 75% of them were profoundly pro-gay & pro-abortion. That way he, as a lawyer, can say he appointed pro-life, pro-family judges, when only 25% of them were.

--------- They are heretics with respect to Christendom. Most “Christian” denominations are heretical these days too, what with homosexuality and ordaining women...

----------- So it's ok it's that Romney lies in primary and says he is 100% pro-life and pro-family values, and has already put a target on the innocent babies resulting from rape, and now that he is the official candidate, he comes out of the liberal closet, and that is ok why? He's a republican? Do those babies deserve to die? He says he's for gay adoption already. Why would he stop gays from marrying so their children have a real family? He did it before. So only democrats who call themselves Christians and are ok with abortion and the gay agenda (even though over 50% think it's wrong) are hypocrites? I think many in the party are not looking in the mirror.

Do you go to church? The churches that accept homosexuality are liberal churches. The MSM likes to highlight churches are are liberal to make it seem like there are only a few "hatemoger churches left" Don't buy that lie. My Pastor and many others, have said he will not break God's laws, even if it means he goes to jail or sued, or worse. The country is turning hard left because now, not only are liberals ok with abortion and the gay agenda, so are some on the right. I understand romney lied in the primary, and the gop too, but to be a part of bringing the gay agenda, abortion into mainstream republican party will push the left even further left and you know we have to be just immediately right of them. Those who vote for romney and not standing against him because of his liberalism is destroying this country. I am a Christian and have never voted for a pro-abortion, pro-gay person. I have to answer to God and won't tell him I was more afraid of Obama than God Himself. Do you think God won't punish this nation for accept sin and even asking for it through their vote? I won't be any part of it.

---------- This is not an exercise in faith. The Cross and the Flag parted company aways back. This is about strengthening the things that remain, IMHO. ----------

It's nice how you can leave your faith at the door and enter into a partnership with those who endorse what we know is wrong. Does God not see what is going on in the convention? Are the lies that have been told by the the rnc to push a liberal and the fact that conservatives have been used for our vote, not bother you? Those who call themselves Christians AND live it, should be up in arms over what romney and the gop did. If every Christian, EVERY, called the gop & romney campaign and said that they want to hear on a major network that romney will promise to keep him primary promise and be against all abortion and against gay adoption/marriage. That he will appoint prolife profamily judges that have been approved by the Familly Research Council (where the shooting took place a few weeks ago) If we don't put our foot down NOW, we will leave our children a country that will be asking for unthinkable things in the near future, because they know the left and the right only care about winning the game and NOW doing what is right. What I fear is that there are people wanting to win at all cost is the only important thing. It's not a football game, it's our children's future. Romney will be the rope many will hang by if he is elected. Either way, romney or obama, our kids will be one ones who suffer the most. .

Psalm 106

But they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs.

They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.

They sacrificed their sons  and their daughters to false gods.

They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters,

whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.

They defiled themselves by what they did;  by their deeds they prostituted themselves.

Therefore the Lord was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.

He gave them into the hands of the nations, and their foes ruled over them.

Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power.

Many times he delivered them,  but they were bent on rebellion

and they wasted away in their sin.

This is what God will do if we do if we stand with Him against and not with the world.

Yet he took note of their distress  when he heard their cry;

for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.

He caused all who held them captive to show them mercy.

That’s why Juan Williams felt the need to attack her right then. Also why they felt they had to utterly destroy Sarah Palin. She was much too big a threat to their stranglehold on the women’s vote.

I am surprised your Mormon friend is so liberal, we always hear that they are conservative. Maybe liberalism is contagious in Mass.[ all my relatives there are.} I am sure Ann Romney would make a wonderful First Lady. I just felt her remark about not having a kitchen table 34 years ago and having to cash in stocks does not relate to most peoples financial hard times. It sounded a bit out of touch.

"Don't like Mitt. Still don't. Voting against Obama."

I confess to only spotty viewing of the GOP Convention last night, but what I saw troubled me deeply. I was really impressed with Marco Rubio, but I noticed his U S Flag lapel pin had a mark on it and later Mitt's did too.

I googled it and discovered that the mark was the GOP elephant. In my humble opinion, anybody who ever served under our flag would consider that as desecration.

I am disappointed that the GOP would do that. I am disappointed with Mitt and Marco, too.
