***GOP Goes Alinsky on Obama***

" I detected a change from past GOP conventions that bears mention. The Republicans seem to at last be reading Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky. The messages and tactics of Alinsky, long the monopoly of the Left, have been discovered by the Right..A couple of examples. ...First, Clint Eastwood’s speech was pure Alinsky.. RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions...The mockery of the empty chair was straight out of Rule 5, and predictably, the Left is seething and irrational over it. But the message of the night was Alinsky’s RULE 4:... “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules."

The thing I liked most about Eastwood’s skit wasn’t his humor (though it was good) but the very important reminder that POLITICIANS AND BUREAUCRATS ARE OUR EMPLOYEES!!! Not the other way around.

The political class has gotten way too uppity. It is time we clip their wings.

We have to starve the beast and watch it like a hawk!

Alinsky does’t work when the truth becomes as obvious as the sun.

And Christians need to stay away from Alinsky tactics. We can’t follow two masters.

***GOP Goes Alinsky on Obama***

Well, it's about freaking time. I was wondering how long it would take the Republicans (and even a few folks around here) to stop whining about the rats' use of Alinsky tactics (as if they were classified materials available only to the rats) and start employing them themselves AGAINST the rats.

Now, the day I see conservative activists employ "the diamond tactic" at a big public gathering I will really be impressed.

I have used that tactic twice with astounding success.

First was when I served jury duty on an aggravated sexual assault case. We all knew the guy was guilty as sin, but only three of us knew he deserved life in prison (the highest we could give him). By accident we were sitting opposite from each other, but we verbally supported what the other had to say. After a few votes the group began to see it our way. As it was happening I realized we were using Alinsky's tactic. The perp got slammed with life in prison.

The other time was when a group of us parents were fighting a really bad sex ed program, we decided to "pass the football around," a technique we made up which consisted of taking control of the debate at the meeting by verbally talking to each other as if no one else was in the room. It worked like a charm. We did a few other things that frustrated their entire effort. The program was eventually pulled. Our whole effort was a real blast.

The first thing you have to realize is that you don't need to be afraid. These people, INCLUDING Barack Obama are actually paper tigers.

Know your enemy. Plan your tactics. Work your plan. Fearlessly.

They will fall before they know it.

No serving in the military by the Romney family in any of the wars going back at least 100 years either.

He likes to talk about military options though.

Regarding Rule 11: If you follow Alinksy, you don't attack and then offer the constructive alternative yourself. The Alinskyite tactic is to make the opponent (or 'enemy' if you're Obama) offer the constructive alternative when he attacks you - e.g. "You're right. I don't know how to solve this problem. What is your plan?" You would have to be fairly confident that your opponent doesn't have that plan. One could say that Romney was actually countering the Alinskyite tactic before it was employed.

Obama: Romney's 'got to let people know' about Afghanistan plans (politico44 ^ | 9/1/12 | REID J. EPSTEIN)

Funny thing is, all throughout the 2004 scampaign, John Fragging Kerry said that he "had a plan". Never did bother to share it with Congress or the public or the President.

"We have to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it!" -Nancy Culture of Corruption Pelosi.

Alinsky by any other name is evil. I know I’ve practiced it in the past, but I don’t want to continue. It is evil to the core.

You can go after the truth with vigor and gusto but to take on the practices of a man who dedicates his book to satan is something else. I don’t like how Alinsky values character assassination because with liberals, that often means to lie about a person.

I worry that if we start taking up the side of Alinsky, we will become like the left. I’ve already seen his practices used on other republicans from fellow republicans. Its the dark side of politics and once you go down that road, use Alinsky’s tactics because it’s easier and quicker, it becomes harder to leave it.

I have studied Alinsky, in fact I was the very first one to post an article about him on this site.

Alinsky took Machiavelli and updated him for a new generation. It was as if he sat down with a copy of "The Prince" said a prayer to Lucifer for inspiration and started writing.

Now, if you are aware of his tactics, it gives you the advantage of understanding your opponent enough to know what he will do next. And then you can work on the offensive which puts you in the football in your hand.

Now, am I advocating to work by Alinsky tactics? Nope. Feeding 200 homeless people beans and then taking them to a posh event so they can expel those beans on cue is not something I would ever emulate. But knowing that THEY would do something like that IS important. Michael Moore pulls those kind of stunts. And, I think it is a good idea to know this.

The number one rule of war is to know your enemy. It is in the U.S. Army rule book. Alinsky is Obama's tactician, and we are fooling ourselves if we think we can ignore him.

I agree. What I object to is seeing people as the enemy. I know that's hard because there are some real a-holes but calling people that disagree with you an enemy is a dangerous road to walk on. The left has a tendency to go to the extreme with that kind of thinking.

And another thing I don't like is how using Alinsky/the Prince have left the country. It's not a better place because of it. This country is so divided. Look what it's done to the left. They're bitter and twisted. If using that tactic works, it comes with one hell of a price.

I don't advocate using Alinsky's tactics, but what I do see as important is knowing him well enough that you can out fox them.

Where Alinsky-ites use ridicule we must use humor. Where they seeth with hate we use love.

I like to call it fighting virtuously.
