Barack Obama’s is fighting against Mitt Romney and the Electoral College and losing.

Professor Obama and now President Obama is about to get schooled. I am not going to get into any polls although it is a virtual dead heat as of today. The Electoral College is how we elect Presidents. Al Gore fought against Republican George Bush in 2000 and lost. George Bush won in a squeaker with 271 Electoral College votes in 2000. Bush won with only one more electoral vote than needed. John Kerry fought against Republican George Bush in 2004 and lost. (286 for Bush) Barack Obama is now fighting against Mitt Romney and the Electoral Map and losing.

Barack Obama has a much more difficult time acquiring 270 Electoral College votes necessary then he did in 2008 or Kerry did in 2004. In this election year Mitt Romney does not need to win Ohio or New Mexico or any state that the loser, John Kerry, won in 2004. Romney does not need to win Wisconsin. Why? Because of the 2010 census, there are changes in the Electoral College. This benefits Republicans. All Mitt Romney needs to do is, as they say in tennis, “hold serve”. Romney needs only 269 votes (a tie) and a Republican House of Representatives. A Republican House of Represantives is almost a foregone conclusion. If Romney wins Ohio, Wisconsin and/or New Hamphshire these victories would add to the total. Yes, Romney can win less states and electoral votes than Bush in 2000 and become the next President of the United States. Contrary to conventional wisdom, with Romney’s lower electoral threshold, the odds of Obama winning are not very good. Tie goes to Romney. Obama’s higher threshold of 270 (really 271) is especially difficult when the game is played in traditional red states. Advantage Romney.

I think and hope he has New Hampshire (4) and Wisconsin (10) is in the wrong column which would compensate for the loss of Virginia (13).

It would be ironic if Obama wins because he takes one electoral vote out of Nebraska.

It’s amazing to me how such a poor excuse for a president and an abject failure can still have otherwise sane people voting for him.

I guess the brainwashing from the schools and the MSM are pretty dang successful.

It’s amazing to me too...but my sister at 60 years of age says she will NEVER vote for a Republican because Dad never did and she wants to honor him to the death. Crazy but I remember him arguing with my mother who was going to vote for “that Catholic” and cancel out his vote in 1960. As far as I know, she voted for Kennedy and he didn’t.

I’m hopin’ there are not a whole lot of folks out there who think this way.

Yeah, it's like when anyone tells me they vote for the candidate NOT the party, I immediately realize they don't know anything at all about the issues at hand and are just voting for the more attractive candidate. I wish people like that just wouldn't vote.

It's the same in my family. It doesn't matter what Obama does, he's a Dem and since my deceased grandpa mistakenly thinks FDR was a hero, then he gets the vote by some of the female members of my family.

I’m from a BIG family too, 9 girls and 3 boys and we all have different perceptions but if I would have to guess I would say that it’s 50/50 among us polictally. Why I do not know. BIG time Obama supporters and BIG time not. My sister I spoke about before has no interest in being anything than a hard working bee though...others of us are more entrepenurial. All hard workers though. Political difference, not sure yet.

Grammar police is rearing it’s ugly head.

It’s either “’s” or is. Pick one.

Not a champion for a vote for a Kennedy or not... but certainly a champion for your mom and her ‘nullifying’ vote!

Just explain to her (I get it, I know what you are up against because I also know she has probably insulated herself with ‘friends’ who have posted the same crap I see on Facebook) the differences between JFK and today’s Democratic platform.

Google the episode of Rush on Family Guy and it sums it up clearly. Tell them they belong to the “Contrarian” Party.

It’s a exercise of hope over despair.

Obama Voters are not happy with the world around them. They see the poverty and the pain. They see the violence and the ignorance. They translate and process it differently than other people. The obama voter thinks to himself... “This all must change” and they figure they’re going to start doing something different. So they turn to something ‘NEW’, which is communism, which they figure is anything is better than the current state of affairs.

This is not new... These people began this march back in the mid 50’s with Khrushchev and the ‘hippie’ movement which was at it’s root a militant communist army. They knew they were not going to change america from the outside. Instead they turned their tactics to coopting small leadership positions within what they viewed as ‘the empire’. They ‘believe’ in their cause with the passion that would make any islamist jihadist blush. It is their goal to transform the world they live in for their children and so they passed these belief sets along to their children. They did this by coopting the School system and injecting their poison slowly so as not to kill the victim, but merely transform it.

Now they consider themselves to be a formidable army because they hold the Sec of State positions and Teachers and Unions. They hold Governorships and Mayors and they’ve coopted the entire democrat party. These folks have matured into positions of authority, honor and prestige. Hollywood and Media, they have become leaders in our society and they’re starting to exercise that power. And they have discovered that for their ‘vision’ to be successful, **YOU** are in the way.

Romney voters are not on a ‘long march’ of any kind. Romney voters are individuals who are simply trying to work, and raise their children and once in awhile go sailing or hunting or camping or something. Not looking for any kind of world change, they are satisfied to grow where they are planted. They dont mind coexisting with people that disagree with them because they are independent and self affirming. They’re not involved much most times they dont even pay attention to the politicians. But when he lost his job, or his health insurance costs increased by 3 fold, he awakened to a world that he did not recognize.

Awakened in the 2010 tea party, many of these romney voters described above have slipped underground themselves. They’re working their way up and winning elections and talking to people of like mind. They understand that the number of people who are deluded obama voters are in reality very few in number but their influence is great and their voices are loud. Like the six occupy people who camp out in the city park surrounded by cameras and reporters making their numbers seem in the thousands. But as Glen Beck said, “We Surround Them”. If these americans have not awakened yet then obama will win.

But I think obama overreached in domestic policy, failed miserably in economic terms and underperformed in foreign policy. This has not gone unnoticed by what the obama groups term as ‘the masses’. They are affected by the high gasoline prices, and they arent convinced by the obama sophistry and apologists trying to tell them that the gas prices dont affect the price of milk and bread for their children. Now their insurance is going up and their losing their jobs. They’re seeing the unrest in the middle east with horror. They see the bankruptcies in Europe with great concern. These folks are going to vote for their children, for their families. Because they’re hungry for the times when 8.5% unemployment was considered unthinkable.

Romney is not my favorite candidate on the GOP side. But i’ll vote for him because NOW... We need change more than ever. Now we’re going to borrow the obama line and say... We’re Hoping for Change.

Now Get Out and VOTE!

True, but the vote will not be individual Repubs vs Dems in the House — the vote will be by State Delegations. Luckily, Repubs have a majority of the State Delegations, ones that have more Repub representatives than Dem representatives.
