Is it last call for the tea party? Consider these recent developments:
Late Thursday: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a possible presidential candidate in 2016, ridicules fellow Republicans as the "stupid party" and urges Washington Republicans to get over their obsession with cutting budgets.
Friday afternoon: The office of Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, another would-be Republican presidential candidate, declares that he will not go along with a plan, hatched by conservative legislators, to rewrite the state's election laws in a way that would stack Virginia's electoral votes against Democrats.
Late Friday: Fox News says it has parted ways with Sarah Palin, the former vice presidential candidate and tea-party darling whose following had shriveled.
Saturday: Reports emerge that House Speaker John Boehner had given a speech in which he referred to "hard heads" in his Republican caucus.
Monday: Sen. John McCain, who during his 2008 presidential run backed an enforcement-only approach to immigration, declares his support for a plan for undocumented immigrants to become legal. Joining him on the stage is Sen. Marco Rubio, one of the party's brightest stars for 2016.
This last offense was too much for Rush Limbaugh, who denounced the "amnesty" plan. "Why are we doing this?" he asked Rubio on-air Tuesday. Rubio was solicitous but firm. "We do have this existing problem that has to be dealt with," he replied.
It is too early to call a requiem for the tea party. The informal movement still dominates the House Republicans...

The Tea Party isn’t over, the United States as a Representative Republic is over.
Direct Democracy, as in The Tyranny of the Majority, rules the day. The Founders are spinning at Warp Factor 10 in their Graves.
“The Tea Party isnt over, the United States as a Representative Republic is over.”

By reading the examples, it seems to me that Tea Party is getting under the skin of The Establishment...that’s far from being defeated.
In the past, they were ignored and run over, now these Establishment people are having to deal with them.
theywish.
why they never ask if any liberal group or cause is over because they lose a few elections, or propositions, ...?
they sure like to try and depress us don’t they?
In a word, “NO!!!”
I am pretty sure that is exactly true. This country is in trouble, for turning its back on God, and Obama is the curse we are being forced to endure from this.
And hello again Alex. I will be in the Philippines on Feb 17.
Funny they should ask.
I was just AT a Tea Party last night. They spoke of Agenda 21, gun “control” measures, the Constitution, and many other things, including an upcoming educational series of meetings.
They’re alive and well and I hope it makes the progressives soil their panties.
Specifically, Isaiah 3:4.
So because the GOP-e stabs the Tea Party in the back, the RINOs’ liberal allies in the media declare the Tea Party “over”. I smell huge backlash.
It’s not over, if you don’t want it to be over. As long as every member votes for the tea party candidate, everytime and in every election.
It’s not over.
Notice that we do not see any articles about “Occupy” which is clearly dead, if it ever really lived as any kind of viable political force, being dead. As for McCain, that’s revisionism at its finest. He was Juan McCain before, and he’s Juan McCain again.
So Dana Milbank thinks the tea party is weak, but he also thinks it still “dominates” the House Republicans. Which is it, Dana?
Here’s a hint: the tea party is not actually a party at all. It’s a very loose collection of people who share similar, but not identical, views about government. That said, people who generally align themselves with the “tea party” have never dominated the House Republicans. That’s complete nonsense.
Dana, how in the world did the recent spending deal pass??? Answer that, if you can, then explain how the far right “dominates” the Republican Party.

This is why the Homosexuals are always parading around in the public eye. They want everyone to know that they are around. What isn't seen, they believe, doesn't exist. They can not comprehend an underground (or behind the scenes) movement.
I think they will crap in their pants when the Tea Party decided to make its presence known...
Yes, the Tea Party is over. We’re at Lexington and Concord now. Try to keep up with us, fella! lol
I can’t wait ‘til everybody finally runs out of bubblegum!
The Tea Party is just getting ramped up! When conservative make their way back Libs/MSM are not going to know the impact of their slaughter!
No prob, throw on another kettle!
