Former Bush aide slams Sarah Palin as not ‘competent enough’ for Fox News

While participating in a panel discussion Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” President George W. Bush’s former chief strategist Matthew Dowd continued the senseless attacks on former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin by political elitists on the right .

Dowd was critiquing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) for not inviting New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), while welcoming Palin, who he said “wasn’t competent enough to keep a Fox News contract,” according to The Raw Story.

“CPAC, to me, has totally diminished its credibility as an organization,” Dowd said. “And you invite Sarah Palin, who wasn’t competent enough to keep a Fox News contract? But she’s invited to CPAC meeting?”

Palin has been critical of the Bush family in the past. In an appearance on the Laura Ingraham radio show in November 2010, Palin referred to George H.W. and Barbara Bush as “blue bloods” who were trying to “pick and choose” the 2012 Republican presidential nominee for president....

No, I don’t like politicians who hang on forever. However, if a politician seeks office, I expect them to at least hang around for the whole term.

well shux big daddee, sometimes things change. Sometimes events occur that cannot be forseen. Would you have accused Palin of “quitting” had she resigned to become VP? I mean, I expect them to hang around too, but if it is in the best interest of her constituents, the best interests of her family, and in her best interests too, then I call that a damned good decision, leadership, forsight, and boldness.

But then again, what’s leadership, boldness, and a good decision compared to big daddys’ “spek dem to hang aroun?

What smell is that? Please... be specific.

I for one don’t subscribe to the cult of Sarah Palin as the “master political strategist” and future of the Republican party. She gives a good speech. However, any discussion reveals her to be about as deep as Sean Hannity (and thats not saying much).

Reagan spent his time in the wilderness writing brilliant articles and fine tuning his conservative credentials. Sarah Palin spends hers trolling for reality shows and feuding publicly with her daughter’s baby-daddy (At least she did a few years ago. Master political stroke there.)

And yes, her defenders will rise up and and declare their fealty to the brave and beautiful Sarah. Nice lady I’m sure. Good fund raiser. Nice speech giver. The future and most powerful member of the Republican party? No. The one to perfectly articulate a vision and plan for the conservative movement going forward? I don’t think so. The one to stick it out through thick and thin? Well, she already proved herself there.

We can certainly do better.

Dowd is now a “CNN Republican” - which is to say, a worthless collaborator. Rush makes sport of stupid stuff he says from time to time....

If you don’t like her, fine. But when you regurgitate the same cheap-shot propaganda and misrepresentations of Gov. Palin, I think you know full well what smell you give off.

Yet Palin is the most powerful force of conservatism since Reagan, her effect on moving this party right since 2008, is massive, her involvement in 80 or so races has and is reshaping the GOP.

Your anti-Palin wing of the party is in chaos and is a disaster, it just blew the Senate and lost to Jimmy Carter the second in an election that couldn’t be lost, while Palin was picking up seats.

At some point, you guys need to quit fighting against Palin and the Cruzs and Rands and Rubios and Mike Lees and the tea party, and join us.

Something tells me that Matthew Dowd is Gay.

Gays are repelled by Sarah Palin like Dracula is repelled by the Crucifix. This is because Sarah Palin is a woman of God.

God blesses Sarah Palin and may God continue to bless her.

I don’t like politicians who hang on forever.

So which politicians do you like? What number of years do you define as "forever"?

How weird. Sarah, Allen West, and Cruz are at CPAC - no one else of any consequence, no one who could actually be called conservative!! How I wish the three of them would look at the overall situation and withdraw. They are the only ones with anything to say. And the way other conservatives are being treated, they would make a powerful statement by just backing out.
