Ex-RNC Chair Michael Steele: I Don’t Understand The Fear Of Gun Registration (VIDEO)
Talking Points Memo ^ | April 9, 2013 | David Taintor

Posted on 04/10/2013 8:17:01 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele on Tuesday said he doesn't understand why gun owners fear the registration of their firearms.

"I don't get the fear of registration," Steele said on MSNBC. "I don't get the, the concern about trafficking. Are we saying that we want criminals to, you know, make … back-alley sales out of the trunks of their cars?"

Steele was part of a panel on MSNBC's "The Daily Rundown," during which former Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) said that responsible gun owners insure their guns, which means they're registered. "I mean, I don't understand," she said.

MSNBC host Chuck Todd agreed with Steele. "It feels like we're protecting the rights of the paranoid about government, rather than, sort of, the reasonable," he said.

Government is the most murderous force on earth.

Governments have murdered 262 million of their own citizens since 1900, and gun control/confiscation was always the first step.

Gun Control aka Democide (Death By Government) 1/6

Living within 50 miles of either coast can result in a loss of understanding.

The only bad thing about Michael Steele NOT being GOP leader is that they found someone even worse.

It is simple, Mike.

When a law is promulgated to regulate, in ANY way, property, that property is no longer owned by the private citizen but (now) by the regulating entity. At that point, the regulating entity “owns” said property and the citizen (previous owner) pays the agency to have it.

This contravenes the 4th Amendment wherein the government should remunerate the owner for said taking. (Works with your paycheck, too.)

Tyrant Kim Un Hussein must be very pleased that his efforts to “FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” are progressing so easily.

That's why we voted you out Blanche. You didn't understand. The people didn't want ObamaCare and you voted for it anyway. Elections have consequences.

Steele was never a conservative, (I don’t understand why he was so revered on here at one time). He is a Maryland Republican, which means to get any elected office in the state he had to be a “moderate” (think of Scott Brown in MA). The political spectrum in Maryland is (Far left - democrats / Center Left - Republicans).

“I don’t get the fear of registration”

I don’t get why anyone ever thought you were anything more than an idiot.

Lets have a registration for all pens and pencils, a ten day waiting period and background check before you can buy one.

What could it hurt?

BTW, notice Todd’s use of the term ‘paranoid’? The meme is building.

Michael Steele: I Don’t Understand The Fear Of Gun Registration

Which is much of the problem. Politicians, be they Republican or Democrat, have one they in common, they ARE part of the "system". Therefore they have a hard time understanding why ANYBODY, outside the "system" would mistrust, fear or think it had anything but the best of intentions. There are exceptions like Paul and Cruz, but they are few and far between

Well, that would be one reason why you don't have your job anymore.

It’s very simple. You don’t want the government to know where the guns are! Or who has them! Because then they can come get them!

But if you spent more time reading history and less time shopping for your fancy suits and ties, you’d understand that.
