When a law is promulgated to regulate, in ANY way, property, that property is no longer owned by the private citizen but (now) by the regulating entity. At that point, the regulating entity “owns” said property and the citizen (previous owner) pays the agency to have it.
This contravenes the 4th Amendment wherein the government should remunerate the owner for said taking. (Works with your paycheck, too.)

Steele was never a conservative, (I don’t understand why he was so revered on here at one time). He is a Maryland Republican, which means to get any elected office in the state he had to be a “moderate” (think of Scott Brown in MA). The political spectrum in Maryland is (Far left - democrats / Center Left - Republicans).

What brilliance Michael. Governments never do bad things to unarmed people. Ask the Jews. Ask the Armenians. Ask the Kulaks. Ask the Cambodians. Ask the Chinese, Vietnamese, Poles, Magyars and Czechs. That could NEVER happen here because our little tyrants and their follower mob are so benevolent. They don’t hate the people that oppose them. I read their comments all the time and they are just filled with love, compassion, understanding and tolerance.
