Liberty and Justice for All, as they say. I’d say the perpetrator(s) are entitled to due process and fair proceedings. I like to think that we’re not so barbarous that we turn into lynch mobs at the drop of a hat.
At the same time, I’m absolutely sure that justice won’t end well for them. We absolutely must wait to see all the evidence, and we must make sure we have the right guy (seems certain at this point); if we’re right, it’s just a little more time and then he gets what’s coming to him. If we’re wrong (heaven forbid), we stop ourselves from doing wrong in turn. Even when the result seems a foregone conclusion, due proceedings are a must.
Now, the rest of the article thumps its chest with some partisan name-calling, and I don’t care for that. To the extent that the article is correct, if any, and this is being used to push for anti-immigrant measures, shame on those folks for trying to take advantage of a tragedy to force their agenda. But at the same time, shame on this guy for trying to turn it around into a pro-immigration thing; it’s hard to tell who’s taking advantage of what here, so I’m just going to wag my finger at all the other issues being pulled into this.
Thanks. That's one of the thoughts I was looking for after reading what you quoted.
I imagine it's always been like this, but the constant propaganda pretending to be cogent thought these days gets tiresome.
Libs. All you have to do to figure out what they are up to, is listen to what they accuse their enemies of doing.
Paranoid. Unlike, say, the SPLC or the feminist movement.
