As two prominent GOP women fade, a question of how to woo female voters (Guess who they mean?)
NBC News Politics ^ | June 3, 2013 | Kasie Hunt, Political Reporter

Michele Bachmann's taking a bow. Sarah Palin's star has faded. With the brassy, blow-dried bombasts of the GOP moving to the sidelines, there's no elected heir apparent to inherit the mantle and carry the conservative crusade forward on the national stage.

What does that mean for a Republican Party struggling to woo the women voters it needs to win national elections?

It may be for the best, say some of the GOP operatives who have been pushing the party to rebrand itself after its 2012 losses.

"They and their style gives short shrift to other women in the GOP," said Sara Taylor Fagen, a longtime Republican strategist who worked on Mitt Romney's first presidential campaign. "And so the risk for the party is when they become the only face. It does have the possibility of alienating groups of women, and that is a challenge."

---snip---

That's not to say Palin and Bachmann don't have their defenders. The Susan B. Anthony List works to elect anti-abortion women candidates, and the group's president, Marjorie Dannenfelser, argues that both women were trailblazers and role models for anti-abortion, stay-at-home moms who might not otherwise believe they were capable of running for office.

She says Palin and Bachmann have been unfairly ostracized and ridiculed -- not just by Democrats, but by Republicans, too.

"They both became very isolated in elite circles, in Republican circles," Dannenfelser said. "They've gotten immense grassroots support, but then what they experience among the elite in D.C., and board rooms in New York -- they're reviled."(continued)

Palin is still the most important republican politician in the party, she plays the major (positive) role in every election cycle, so the media should wait for one that she doesn’t carry the influence in, before they try this nonsense.

Palin could win if she began talking about the future rather than the past.

There have been so many of these "Palin is washed-up" articles since 2008.

Consider the source; Kasie

We need to broadcast every time the liberals show their true sexism and racism. Even if that means drawing attention to outlets like NBC and MSNBC.

Misogynist Porky Pig Rove and his ilk trash Conservatives and especially Conservative women. The GOPe is very afraid of losing control to Conservatives. It is hard enough running against criminal DemocRats and then being backstabbed by members of your own party. The prominent GOP woman is now Goober Gramnesty. Today’s Gelding Old Party has retreated to their roots ... Old Liberal White Men.

Don’t you just love it when GOP strategists bad mout the only two women in the GOP with real Conservative values.

I sure hope the GOP can make it without my money, I never intend to send them another stinking dime.

Palin and Bachmann are two of the most talented, articulate and good-looking spokesmen that conservatives have ever had. We are truly blessed to have them.

So why on earth on they leaving office? With such weaselly phony excuses?

Quitting is the WORST possible thing anyone can do in politics. Voters will forgive a lot of failings, but not that.

Well, Bachmann appears to have taken herself out of the running for now, which is too bad but God bless her. Palin, on the other hand - she's living in these people's heads rent-free. Odd place for someone who's "washed up", isn't it? If she were washed up, why do they keep writing about her?

The political pendulum swings, and the media gave it a huge extra push in 2008 in favor of an inexperienced, slick-talking incompetent, and it's going to be swinging back the other way just as hard. A lot of people are likely to fall by the wayside when it does, and not all of them are Democrats.

NBC and the rest of the lib media wouldn’t be happy if the GOP selected Lady Gaga as their spokesperson.

The way to “woo” all of the liberal assigned special interests surrounding the GOP is to STICK TO OUR CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES!!!!!!

They comprise our ONLY cohesive mechanism!

Pandering ALWAYS drives away more support than it engenders!!

It is not possible to out-pander the liberals!!!
