Will Marco Rubio Be Hoisted On His Own Petard?
RightWingNews ^ | June 17, 2013 | Derek Hunter

Remember all the build-up around the Facebook IPO? Investors wondered when it would happen and how they could get in on it. People were scrambling to be part of the action. Then, it happened, and it flopped. Marco Rubio is fast turning into the Facebook IPO of the United States Senate. There was hype, there was hope, there was sizzle…but there’s been no steak.

In his first year in the Senate, Marco Rubio did … what exactly? He was sworn in on Jan. 3, 2011, and didn’t even deliver his first Senate floor speech until June 14. Conversely, Rand Paul and Mike Lee joined the Senate on the same day, hit the ground running and haven’t stopped running since.

Not everyone has to be Paul or Lee, and we can argue their success (but not their impact). But as a senator, Marco Rubio hasn’t lived up to half the hype. The proclaimed “savior of the conservative movement” is in the midst of selling it out for a handful of empty promises and feel-good platitudes.

The face for the “Gang of 8” senators on “comprehensive immigration reform” has done more spinning than a top lately and seems dangerously unfamiliar with the legislation. He has said areas of the bill, written by Democrats led by Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., needs improvement, but almost nothing he’s said about it is accurate....

Marco Rubio is an ignorant, transparent racist. He holds hispanic goals at the utmost, regardless of what achieving them might do to this great nation.

A pox on him and his followers. May his days be short, and may another more worthy than he take his place.

FUMR

Well, he has proved he is asexual by screwing himself.

You punk??

I want my $50 bucks back for those ridiculous water bottles.

Had I known you would pull this crap, I’d be setting aside money for your competitor.

Doing it anyway.

And yet on a daily basis, Freepers, the supposedly furthest of the political right, are dead set determined to excuse the GOP and make excuses for keeping it in power.

And scream bloody murder when someone dares call it on the carpet. Am I alone in my frustration?

It was started by people like them. How can they “take over” something they’ve owned from day one?

Nope, I think people are wakin’ up and the volunteer and professional “social media operatives” are scramblin’ to protect the GOP fortress, which is lookin’ quite dilapidated.

It makes me crazy. Just WTF does the GOP have to do? Is there NOTHING the collective ‘we’ will not make excuses for?

People talk about Obama raping puppies in a Burka and people saying Cool!...But the right is provably no different. The crap during the primary was excused...all the stuff since...now Rubio and Ocho.

Oh they say, We don’t approve of all that? Really? then why are you still supporting it and expanding it with excuses?

And then the name calling and diversion begins.

We can’t win this. We just can’t. We have a 2 front war here and our own side is more destructive than the left. Until they are depowered and put in their place we have no way forward.

But so few seem to care. If they did, they would speak up...no ROAR up.

/extreme frustration

A good friend of mine, a high-ranking Republican aide in the Senate, told me a popular joke on Capitol Hill is that Sen. Schumer let Rubio write the talking points while his staff wrote the bill. It would be funny were it not proving so accurate.

Schumer be treating Marco like an intern. He be Bill Clinton, Marco be Monica Lewinsky.

As long as he’s hoisted.

I don’t like racists, liars, demagogues, and traitors to the republic. He is all of these.

Nelson Rockefeller looks better in retrospect than these “leaders” today; Dewey, especially so.

The gang made him point man because of his credit with conservatives.
When they’re done with him, they’ll toss him aside like a used rubber.
That’s the treatment McCain & Co. get from their friends on the left.

We certainly are not & probably will not win this because the PTB are stronger than the populace. Your last sentence is also the reason as 99% are too lazy or uninformed to waist an once of energy to correct the situation.

Really, it’s worse. They and EVEN WORSE YET, ‘we’ are fighting our own people tooth and nail when they do speak up. I defy anyone reading this thread to search FR or any other site forum out there.

Find a random thread of any decent size/content including the concept of ditching or depowering the GOP/building a new or adapting an existing party...that does not have several GOP sycophants screaming what a bad idea it is and devolving into personal attacks.

Always an excuse. Always snark. Always something to forward the meme of ‘can’t’.
