Please, stop: Chris Christie is not the 2016 GOP front-runner (PDS snark by the bucketful)
Yahoo! News / The Week ^ | November 7, 2013 | Jon Terbush

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) sailed to re-election Tuesday by a whopping 22-point margin, further fueling the narrative that he has become the clear front-runner for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

By winning so handily in a deep blue state, the story goes, Christie proved to Republicans he's by far their strongest, most electable candidate. And though we're more than two years out from the first primary in the 2016 race, there have already been a torrent of stories gaming out his hypothetical path to the White House.

Lost in all the breathless prognostication, though, is the fact that there is absolutely no front-runner at this point.

Yes, Christie is well-positioned to run for president. He has the financing, name recognition, and national platform — he's about to take over as head of the Republican Governors Association — to run a successful campaign.

Yet as past elections have made clear, dubbing anyone a "front-runner" so far out from the election is a foolishly myopic exercise.

At this same point in the last presidential election cycle, a November 2009 Washington Post poll found Sarah Palin way out in front of the GOP field, with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in second, and Mitt Romney in third....

Nupe.

It proves that N. J. liberals just love him.

(Maybe they like him because he's an anti 2A gun control weasel, eh?)

He could win by dividing the conservative vote.
Same as how Romney won nomination without ever going over 30% until his nomination became obvious.

So.....after Iowa, NH & SC only 1 conservative must stay in, with rest dropping out. If that happens, CC is toast.

Phase I (From Now until Iowa): Anyone who would vote for Christie is not a Freeper and is not welcome here. Go peddle your leftist lunacy on DU!

Phase II (From Iowa through Florida): Hey everyone we've got to all rally around a single conservative candidate to beat that liberal RINO Christie. We can't be splitting our vote between Opportunist A, Fake Conservative B, Nice but untested C, or Perfect but Unelectable D.

Phase III (From Florida through election night): I know he wasn't our first choice, but he's better than that socialist witch Hillary. He seems to be in favor of the 2nd Amendment and seems to be in favor of cutting government spending and taxes. So lets all hold our collective noses and go out and support the bastard.

The record-low turnout for the election is not mentioned. What are these people thinking?!

Too bad all the good conservative states have no real say in primaries, by the time their turn comes around its usually a done deal.

Yeah, tell me about. By the time the primaries are held in Texas, the candidates for both parties are pretty much chosen.

Any time they describe someone with the “e” word you know you shouldn’t vote for them.

Sorry buddy but the terms "electable" and "unelectable" are words moderate (liberals) use to coerce conservatives into voting against their own self interest and I, for one, will never listen to that crap again!

Those are the exact terms that gave us Pres. McCain and Pres. Romney!

I didn't believe them then and I went against my own best judgement (I even donated to those idiots!)

Never again!

Sorry buddy but you need to get a clue.

The above was what some people call 'sarcasm'.

Maybe you needed the /sarc tag, but I thought it was too obvious for that.

"turd sandwich"

Maybe they hope that will work out better than the giant douche they're going with in 2016.
