Those sophisticates at Time magazine made a funny. They put Chris Christie on their cover with the headline, "The Elephant in the Room." Get it? Elephant. Christie. Time magazine did a junior high fat joke right there on its cover. Time's executive editor Michael Duffy explained the cheap shot this way: "Well, he's obviously a big guy. He's obviously a big Republican. But he's also done a really huge thing here this week."
The "huge thing" wasn't only winning re-election as New Jersey's governor, but doing it by appealing to a broad range of voters in a very blue state not just to his conservative base.
But, hey, no harm no foul. Time isn't even a newsmagazine anymore. It became a liberal journal of opinion a long time ago. So you can just hear those wild and crazy journalists at Time sitting around the conference room table giggling about how they'd get away with their fat joke because, well, in the world of politics, the word "elephant" isn't a synonym with "fatso."
But do you think the gang at Time would ever say Barack Obama is a "dark horse." In the world of politics "dark" doesn't mean "black," right?
Time's cover doesn't necessarily mean that Chris Christie is the GOP frontrunner for 2016. It's way too early for that....

If it ever reaches the point where it becomes violent nationwide, there will be little left after but hatred and rage.
So be it.
Better to rebuild from scratch as free men than to do nothing and live as slaves.

The United States has been the worlds biggest economy since 1871, but that top ranking is now under threat from China. The Asian giant has achieved economic growth averaging 10% since it initiated market reforms in 1978 and, in the process, lifting almost half of its 1.3 billion population out of poverty and becoming the undisputed second-largest economy. Chinas gross domestic product (GDP) in terms of current prices and market exchange rates was estimated by the IMF at approximately $8.25 trillion in 2012, which is just over 50% of US GDP of approximately $16 trillion for the same year. While that is a significant gap that may take China many years to close, using another measure known as Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), China is forecast to race past the U.S. in just a few more years.
Are you a slave?
At this point of history, yes, and you are as well, whether you choose to recognize that inconvenient fact or not.
We had better choose one and begin the promoting and educating process as quickly as possible. We are behind the eight ball already.
Wrong! Nobody tells me when, where or what time I have to go to work. I'm free to come and go as I please. I own property and have investments.
Your life revolves around laws and regulations that society has decided to impose upon you. Prior to recent events of the last decade or so, that was a pact we all made, and for the most part tolerated, for the advancement of society and civilization.
Now, the Federal Government has decided to dictate how our lives are to be lived, and it is no longer necessarily rule by majority, but tyranny imposed upon us by a select few who rule by imposing slavery upon the producers of this nation. The method they have chosen is to promise the masses that they will take “riches” from the producers and give those “riches” to those who vote them into office.
Due to this new reality, you are no longer the primary master of your present or future, thus you are no longer a free man. The ACA is the perfect example of this new paradigm. You WILL have health care that you are told to have. This is not a complex situation to understand. If you believe that this will not become the norm for other aspects of your life, you’re deluding yourself.
You WILL do what you are told by the Federal Government. Failure to do so will not be tolerated.
Are you an anarchist? If everyone behaved themselves, we wouldn't need laws, regulations or the 10 Commandments, would we?
You WILL do what you are told by the Federal Government.
WILL? You said we are slaves already and I showed you that I'm not.
First off, instead of replying to the first part of my sentence without regards to the whole is taking my statement out of context and cherry picking the portion to make an invalid conclusion. As I stated, it used to be those laws were decided upon by the whole as necessary limits that were tolerated for the advancement of society and civilization. That entire sentence completely negates your absurd assertion of any Anarchist beliefs, so I will simply ignore any such shenanigans you care to post in such a fashion. That type of “chop logic” is most frequently displayed by those who have no true point to make and is a distraction from the discussion at hand.
In the end, you have not shown me anything other than that you are claiming an illusion of freedom equals freedom.
In my reply replace sentence with paragraph. My mistake.
Even the Jews had collaborators.
For those who cannot or refuse to see, it is impossible. Laws, rules and regulations are necessary for an orderly society. There are consequences for those who think they are above the laws, rules and regulations. The prisons are full of them.
Your response is nonsense.
If you believe you are “free”, more power to you. Enjoy your life as a “free” man.
That would be the expected response of one who cannot see. I'm enjoying my existence as a free man. I'm sorry if you are enslaved living in shackles and chains. Don't you have friends or family to free you?
Your posts are made to elicit a specific response that you seem to enjoy for whatever reason is important to you, and your methodology is easily discerned.
Since I have better things to do with my time, such as have a simple discussion with an honest intellect, I will leave you to wallow in your beliefs as you see fit.
My posts are common sense and not sensationalized fear mongering.
I wouldn’t mind Christie tooooooo much if I thought he could actually win (though I’d far prefer Cruz) but I don’t think he really has the fire in the belly. I think his behavior with Obama and Sandy shows what he’ll do when threatened with negative public opinion: Christie will cave. Therefore he can’t win, say, a debate against Hillary. She’ll pull that “Ohmygod the big hulking male just THREATENED MEEEEEEE” crap again, and Christie will back off and fall apart and apologize. He’ll be just like Mitt, caving against Obama when the stupid moderator took Obama’s side.
I can’t imagine Cruz caving to anyone, anytime.
How are they going to do that when their generation of workers retires, with no one to replace them.
You can’t do growth, growth, growth... without human capital.
