U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who has decried the failure of Congress to extend unemployment benefits before its December recess, is talking about changing the vocabulary of assistance.
In a speech Jan. 8 on the House of Representatives floor, Jackson Lee suggested renaming government welfare.
"Maybe the word 'welfare' should be changed to something of, 'a transitional living fund,'" Jackson Lee said, according to a post on The Minority Report blog. "For that is what it is - for people to be able to live," she said....

Welfare for years was called Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) but is now called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) since 1997.
Her IQ isn’t room temp, it’s the temperature of cold water.

Liberals like to change names of things—Like Human resources rather than the unemployment office. HEY! I can end all Murder in America! Changethe name to Illegal Life Termination! (Exicutions would be Legal Life Termination) ILT would be made illegal! But Murders would stop! because the name has been change to make people feel better!
Instead of coming up with new terms for welfare, how about we eliminate welfare?
Guess then people like Sheila Jackson Lee would have no reason to exist.
And her reason to even exist now is....? I can’t think of any.

Actually it's not Marxism, per Milton Freidman. A negative income tax would provide everyone with a subsidy, which means Uncle Sam cuts everyone a check that can be used to pay basic living expenses. At the same time, all the poverty programs, labor laws, and welfare would be abolished.
Kinda like calling looting “non-traditional shopping”.
She needs to comply with the Constitution's Article V by rallying Congress to propose an appropriate welfare amendment to the states for ratification. And if the states choose to ratify her amendment, then not only will Congress have the constitutional authority that it needs to tax and spend for welfare purposes, but Rep. Jackson Lee will also be a hero.
Otherwise, by continuing to ignore that Congress has no constitutional authority to legislatively address welfare issues, Rep. Jackson Lee is abusing her powers as a federal lawmaker by addressing welfare issues outside the framework of the Constitution. And I suspect that she's basically trying to take advantage of low-information voters who support her, trying to win votes from supporters who do not understand the federal government's constitutionally limited powers.

Let’s have a new designation for Shelia Jackson Lee. To start, I’ll propose Toots. As in Toots Shelia Jackson Lee from California.
She’s a Texas congresswoman, unfortunately.
How about "Superior Citizen Appreciation Award"?
The other part of ms Lee’s proposal proposes to rename Welfare Cadillacs (and Lexi) to ‘Yugos’.
If it wasn’t for having to give up her House seat, Lee could have run for governor of TX and show us how things should be done.
Democrats don’t propose any temporary program. Sheila probably had to pay someone with tax money to come up with a name for Welfare that had less stigma. Personally I think the name Welfare is too nice for the average recipient. Sheila is a first class dunce. No offense intended to dunces.
Shelia Jackson is a racist liberal. And liberalism is a mental disorder.
