The changing political dynamics were on full display this week as Virginia Attorney General Mark R. Herring (D) announced he would not defend the state’s ban on same-sex marriage on the grounds that it was unconstitutional. Herring won a close election with strong support from gay-rights groups, and his decision infuriated conservatives, who accused him of violating his oath to uphold state laws.

Uh not, lying ComPost. He lied to Virginia voters and stabbed them in the back.

In EVERY STATE that homosexual marriage has been placed on the ballot, the voters in those states DEFEATED it.

It is the COURTS over-turning of the Voters wishes in those states, that got homosexual marriage implemented.

The Democrats are severely mis-reading this issue --- I say let them keep mis-reading it.

They are right though, that voters will be motivated to get to the polls --- to defeat them in November!

I failed to bookmark the thread of video of the young woman confronting her former teacher over the phone about abuse that had occurred when she was a student; anyone seen it?

What needs to be analyzed are the people who will vote single issue on it, and those for whom it will be a “tipping point” issue.

I’d guess at this point the largest popupation segment are the ambivilants. The ones who aren’t going to choose what candidate to vote for based on it.

After that, the single issue and tipping point voters against it, followed by those single issue and tipping point for it. So, net, in most places with a “balanced” electorate (not San Francisco, for instance) the issue favors candidates opposed to it.

If the DemocRATS are smart, which they are not, they’ll ALL run on homosexual “marriage, ObamaCare and amnesty for invaders. All three are at the top of the low information voters’ “must do quickly before Americans wake up” list.

Often times I think the Democrat party is just politically a lot smarter than the Republicans, but not on this issue. Typically they’ll pick something like the “War on Women” where they know none of the Republicans will have to balls to point call out Bill Clinton as the biggest misogynist in recent history or refute the old stereotype of the GOP as being the “party of white men”.

I don’t knof if they’ve picked the right fight on gay marriage. The segment of the population that really supports it is also the lowest-information segment, the kind Jesse Watters interviews on BOR that don’t know who Joe Biden even is. Lots of traditionalists don’t think much of all the gay crap, and they vote.

When I look in a catalogue and see battery-operated female things and pills for guy's boners, I get repulsed.

Same thing for gay marriage.

The polls say that folks are supportive, now, but I think that they will get a belly full of the activists pushing themselves on every florist, caterer, bakery, church, etc. simply to make a political point. I foresee lawsuits against the Catholic Church, especially, since they don't like the Church's teaching against homosexuality, and they will try to force Catholic parishes to hold same sex 'marriages', or have their tax exempt status taken away.

I think Catholic Churches should stop doing the civil part of marriages entirely, and not be an agent of the State. They could do Sacramental Marriages ONLY, within the teachings of the Church, and that precludes same sex marriage.

Worse, when he was accused of planning to do this during the election, he denied it, and the news media denounced the claims as lies.

Also, he actually voted FOR it. So now I’d like someone to force him to explain why he would vote for something he thought was unconstitutional.

Or when the constitution changed.

Public opinion on same-sex marriage has shifted so dramatically in recent years that Democratic groups now see the issue as a critical way to mobilize voters in a slew of races up and down the ballot.

Well, we see same-sex marriage as a critical way to mobilize voters against the perverse candidates who are running in favor of this inane notion. Sounds like organizing for "gay marriage" a desperation move of a 'Rat Party in deep trouble.

It's more than a moral issue. It's a fiscal issue as well. "Gay marriage" offers some "newlyweds" the availability of government goodies that they couldn't have qualified for otherwise, so legalizing it would increase government spending on all levels. Of course, handing out more and more from government has been a core "principle" of the 'Rat Party for decades.
