NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has been criticized by his rivals over his comments about minority groups, said on Wednesday he is the rare Republican who could win a sizable portion of the black vote.
Trump, the Republican front-runner, spoke in South Carolina at a meeting of the Greater Charleston Business Alliance, which supports minority businesses and is affiliated with the South Carolina African American Chamber of Commerce.
He cited a recent poll from the firm SurveyUSA that showed him getting support from 25 percent of black respondents in a match-up against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. Trump said that shows he could win the general election.
"Generally, Republicans do not do well with African-Americans," Trump said.
"I have a lot of friends, African-Americans in New York, they say, 'You're going to get most of the vote.' I was actually disappointed with the 25 percent," he said....

After seeing the two women campaigning for him on Youtube, I would not be surpised if he got more than 25% of the black vote.
I doubt that Trump can get much of the black vote as most of them have already been bought and paid. There are exceptions.
Now, in the real election, Trump might get 25% of the Black Vote, but the Democrat will get 85-90% of the Black Vote since the precincts in the inner cities usually have more registered voters than they do eligible adults.
I will wager any amount of money (that I have) that Trump does not get 25% of the Black vote.

Considering the polling recently that shows him at about 25% with blacks, I don’t doubt it.
Was at a restaurant the other day and overheard an older black couple. The wife was going on and on - at length - about how immigrants were bringing in all kinds of diseases that we thought we had eradicated from America. If she’s not a Trump supporter - at least secretly - then I’ll harelip the all of Bear Creek.

I think immigration is a big issue for Black voters. How many will cross over remains to be seen. I don’t think Black voters are all that keen on Hillary. Many will probably just stay home.
Any Republican who can get more than 5% of the black vote will win.
Trump has a certain flair about him and he surrounds himself with beautiful women. I would not want to compare him to a “pimp daddy”, but I can see how he can appeal to a lot more black voters than Romney or McCain did. A lot of urban yutes look up to that.
I of course don’t know the man, but Donald Trump seems to me to be the kind of executive who’d fire someone on the spot for racism in the workplace.
That must be the ‘vibe’ he’s giving off to black voters who’d support him.

Wooing don’t always mean winning, though.
Trump showed on his Apprentice show that he was way more about success than race or gender. A fair number of black people prospered on there. I suspect that gives him some traction. 25 percent? Probably no but maybe double the 6 percent that Romney got.
I’ll mark it on my new 2016 calendar when I get one.
