The Edge: Rubio, Bush, Fiorina and Cruz win the week
Fox News ^ | October 2, 2015 | Chris Stirewalt

Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina and Ted Cruz gained ground on the competition in this week’s installment of The Edge, a one-of-a-kind measurement from the New Analytics Company that “scrubs” television, radio, print, internet and social media to gauge positive and negative attention for the 2016 candidates.

Last week saw interest in all of the candidates muted by blowout coverage of the papal visit, and this week everyone except eighth-place Ohio Gov. John Kasich got a lift. Candidates Donald Trump, Ben Carson, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee; Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie all rebounded by about a point.

But there was some, er, income inequality.

The Edge shows Floridians Rubio and Bush both buoyed this week as their long-simmering feud began to boil over. The two saw the largest gains. But close behind was Fiorina, who was apparently helped by the avalanche of negative stories in mainstream outlets about her business record and her attacks on Planned Parenthood. Cruz also had a better than average week as he returned to Washington to again do battle with his own party over spending legislation.

Remember, The Edge is not a public opinion survey, but the team at New Analytics believes that The Edge provides a way to show changes in the race before polls can reflect them. The data are compiled into a single score and provided exclusively to Fox News First.

Here’s this week’s final scores with gains from last week in brackets:

Donald Trump, 26.1 [+.9]; Ben Carson, 14 [+1.1]; Jeb Bush, 11.1 [+2.4]; Marco Rubio, 8.6 [+2.4]; Carly Fiorina, 8.2 [+2.2];Ted Cruz, 8 [+1.74]; Mike Huckabee, 5.5 [+1.1] John Kasich, 3.8 [unchanged]; Rand Paul, 3.5 [+1.1]; Chris Christie, 4.4 [+1.1]...(continued)

Normally, the winner, is the guy with most points.

Amazing that he continues to lead, solidifies his own base, and edges into new territory, and gets no credit.

Csrly is fading.
She can’t wait for the next debate, because the stage is the only place she seems to shine.

Rubio was at 16 in one poll and 2nd. What is the medication used to suppress erotic urges. So many in the media are getting aroused by this fake poll when all polls contemporaneous, four or five of them have Marco between eight and ten.

Great catch. Carly is a stage actress only.

No one, I mean no one, is going to put her in charge of anything, while she drags around that resume full of promotions but leaves a legacy of utter catastrophe when she finally obtained the top, and everyone knows it.

She has the gift of fluency that has no doubt nailed down an assured ascent, but her subpar decision making skills were evident, warned against, deadly destructive to company jobs, and so costly to Hewitt Packard that some claim they still have not been able to recover.

But, she’s fluent and it seems to work for 9 or 10 percent of voters. The silver tongue often gets in the front door, with some people.

I can’t believe that many people would still vote for The Joyful Tortoise or Rubberio.

Amnesty is death to America.

There is only one poll that matters.

Ronald Reagan won it twice, going away.

{”Carly is fading.”}

Her job history, liberal positions on key issues, and
stupid statements are catching up.

“everyone except eighth-place Ohio Gov. John Kasich got a lift.”

That’s good news.
