The rapid rise and equally rapid fall of Carly Fiorina deserves our attention. Before the most recent debate, she was languishing in the polls with only 4 percent of the vote (CBS, Sept. 9-13). After a smashing performance in the second debate, she soared into second place with 15 percent (CNN, Sept. 17-19). Now the most recent polls have her falling back into the pack with only 6 percent support (CBS, Oct. 4-8).
What happened?
Her initial rise was partially due to her headline-stealing riposte to Donald Trump for his ill-considered comments demeaning her physical appearance. By linking her cause to that of all women, she effectively played off Trump's publicity and vaulted to the top of the field.
But the deeper reason for her climb was that Republicans want to nominate a woman to counter Hillary Clinton, and they found Fiorina, a self-made woman, a far more authentic model of female advancement than they thought Clinton represented. Here was a woman who did not depend on her husband's career to move ahead and who did not have the baggage of scandal and secrecy that burdens Clinton's candidacy....

I think whats happening there is she gets a lot of attention after debate performance but then after debate there’s not much coverage of her since that seems to be going mostly to Trump and Carson.
People were excited because she was going after Hillary and could do so and avoid the Vagina Card, which Hillary played several times tonight.
But her failed campaign against Boxer and that playbook (pointing out her HP problems) took a bit of the shiny new candidate effect off.
Plus, she went after Trump. You mess with the bull, you get the horns.
Oh, and if she was so damn proud of her face, why all the Botox?
She was interviewed ad nauseam after her rise in the polls and therein is the problem. As she gets attention, people begin to pay attention to her views, which in most areas are not conservative. Also, her business failures pop up and are undeniable.
Debates brought her attention. I liked what I saw UNTIL I did some research. She supported Hillary while working for McCain. Is funded by Univision and while at Lucent a bookkeeping issue similar to Enroe prompted Her resignation
What happened to John Kasich?
He was the new “darling” not long ago.
I wouldn’t mind reading about the reasons for his demise...
Can’t be. Media said she was rising star. Maybe her ode to muslims after 9/11 is being spread around. I posted it on Trump’s facebook a bunch of times.
and after watching the dem debate, Trump or Cruz will win with a lot of work.
what morons. except for Webb. ex marine. seemed like stand up guy. dont know why he was up there,.
He was very middle of the road and too leftists for any Republican primary voters.
Who?
[What happened?]
She kept opening her liberal yapper.
But, the good news is, she can hang out with Perry, Bush and Linda Graham at a Denny’s and talk about how much they hate Trump. Over pancakes.
“She supported Hillary while working for McCain”
Thank you.
That is the one thing I’ve not resolved in her favor. Oh I know there are other items on the list but I’m saying her prior excessive praise of Hillary Clinton, which of course is on video for all to see and to be run ad infinitum, is what I can’t overlook or justify.
Yep, you’re correct. Nice debate skills, for sure, just wrong times, wrong woman, and she has disappeared since that debate many moons ago, in this fast paced time-climate.
Stupidity. It kills quite often.
It is more her past coming back to haunt her. Really all she has going for her is her yapper, she is better than most of the rest of the GOP candidates in the debates.
Seriously agree. Carli has never been one of us.
“Bless her heart”.
She jumped the gun. As soon as she hit +15% she went ‘establishment’. Bad Bad Choice. She dropped like a rock.
Having listened to very little of her, I’ll trust you.
Her attempted smackdown of Trump while playing the GOPe “he hate women” card was enough for me.
Never mind her track record at HP, which also showed her true colors.
I agree with your assessment of Kasich. The more you see and hear, the more you’re reminded of his wimpishness when push comes to shove.
I find him personally off-putting as well as wrong headed on some important issues.
He slips and slides around on rather clear-cut choices until he like the old Simon and Garfunkel song, ends up “slip-sliding away”.
Did anyone catch that he absurdly claims the Bible demands that we take care of those in need through the big government apparatus?
How sophomoric. That isn’t what Scripture means, at all, about helping the poor.
She was also active in Clinton Foundation. Don’t remember the details
