GOP front-runner Donald Trump is leading Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in California, a new poll shows, one of the final primary contests before the Republicans head to the party's convention in July.

Trump is the pick of 39% likely Republican voters, while Cruz has the support of 32%, according to a poll from the Field Research Corporation in California. John Kasich is in third place at 18%, while 11% are undecided.

Cracks in GOP rank-and-file also are reflected in the poll, as nearly 4 in 10 California Republicans (38%) say they would be "dissatisfied" or "upset" if Trump became their party's nominee, and nearly as many (34%) say this about Cruz....

not to worry cruz will just have the delegates go against the wish of the voters and let them vote for the establishment.

“Trump leads Cruz by 7 points”

Excellent! I think Cruz has no chance.

well he did call for Carson to drop out, hell he went further and said Carson or his staffers did told the Carson voters he was dropping out
The same happened in NV to the Rubio voters.
Then he called for Kasich to get out as he cannot do it mathematical.

After NY will cruz take his advice or will he be the usual establishment spoiler.

Not enough bible bangers in California to push him across the finish line.

Yes, Mr. Cruz, being the honorable American that he is will most definitely drop out when it becomes mathematically impossible for him to win.
He asked the same of Mr. Kaisich so of course he will drop out.

If you’re a low-information Hispanic voter in California and see the name “Cruz” on your ballot, who are you going to vote for, amigo? LOL

Trump leading in California, by any margin, is a good sign

We're all adults here and we all know polls are polls are polls ... and we know also the media is not necessarily in our corner ... so this could be a misleading article just to give us apoplexy .... still ....

Don’t hang your hat on that, Low information Hispanic voters in CA aren’t Republicans. And Republican Hispanics hate illegal immigration.

Cruz is indeed doing the GOPe’s dirty work for them. But hopefully CA voters are able to figure this out and vote for Trump.

Nobody is ‘mathematically eliminated’ until the convention votes. Your ignorace of the process is clouding your perception of reality.

Look at it like this: since NO ONE is going to be heading to the convention with the pledged delegates neededto win on the first ballot, ALL OF THEM ARE MATHEMATICALLY ELIMINATED, according to you.

That is just plain dumb.

If there is a mathematical elimination, it is rule 40(b) which will eliminate everybody but Trump and Cruz. But Cruz is not eliminated, and won’t be. Neither will be Trump.

You can have your favorite, you are entitled to that. But don’t let your enthusiasm turn you stupid.

“The margin of error among the overall registered voter sample is plus-or-minus 3.2 percentage points, and for the Republicans, the margin of error is 4 percentage points.”

The poll is within the margin of error.

Well, since Cruz is staunchly anti-illegal immigration, that should work out fine.

Trump will not be polling above Cruz in California for long. Trump is strapped down to the exit skids, and the lever is about to be pulled.

After he is mathematically eliminated on the 26th he will sink like a rock

The only way anyone is mathematically eliminated is when 1237 delegates vote for someone else.
