I’ve lived through the Clintons. At 70 yrs. of age; I will,
God willing, along with Fang & Fang, Jr., walking
barefoot over rough gravel down to the polls and voting
for DONALD J. TRUMP for POTUS, and MIKE PENCE FOR VPOTUS.

IF HITLER-Y & BILLIOUS CLINTON are not taken down for good;
it will not be because of TWINKIE. - NOW, BY GOD, PLEASE
STAND WITH TWINKIE!!

TRUMP IS A FLAWED MAN; but he is a MAN and not the
GRIFTER that the CLINTONS ARE!!!!

Personally, I do not understand how a guy who was a Dove Bar salesman before his mother became a conservative rock star rose to such heights. I’ve heard of nepotism but he along with Chelsea “I’ll drive you to suicide if you don’t do my bidding” Clinton take the cake.

This election is about America’s future, not conservatism’s.

That statement is both correct and incorrect. Electing Donald Trump is more about America's future than it is about promoting conservatism. Defeating Hillary Clinton is paramount to having any future for conservatism in America.

DJT may not be an icon of conservative philosophy but if the ongoing destruction of America's founding principles isn't stopped conservative philosophy will be nothing more than a topic of historical nostalgia discussed in hushed tones behind closed doors or screamed on street corners by half-mad zealots carrying End Of The World signs.

The time to fight the onslaught of leftist destruction was the last eight years and the GOP was AWOL. If they couldn't resist 0bama they won't dare defy Hillary.

agreed!
There are appropriate times for compromise
but compromises have to be for mutual benfit, bilateral... and not ALWAYS just us giving giving giving all the time

I, too, supported McCain and Romney.
since then, I learn McCain is half nuts and Romney is backstabbing the GOP nominee today

the GOPe needs to be cleaned out just like “our” federal govt needs to be cleaned out....

Roger that! If they’re helping the Wicked Bitch of the West, they aren’t “conservatives”; they’re traitors and Trump is bringing them out of the shadows.

Like many other so-called pundits, Jonah is just doing whatever his paymaster is telling him to do. “Standing up for principles and values” - standing up for his paycheck, more like.

I do not respect Goldberg. He is not concerned with conserving America.

As for ideological purity: Dole? Bush? McCain? Romney?

All cucksters.

The last thing the NeverTrump GOP-E wants is real conservatism.

Since you’re governing like Democrats and are prepared to rubber-stamp Hillary’s agenda, why do we need you in Congress?

We can get exactly the same thing from the Democrats.

What difference does it make?

I have come to the conclusion that National Review is primarily beholden to their big donors and not conservatism at all. They are hired hands to further their big donors interests.

Well, opinion magazines usually don't show a profit, so the money has to come from somewhere.

In the beginning it was the Buckleys and old Bob Taft-supporting industrialists from the Midwest, but there aren't many of them left.

But I think it's more a matter of National Review wanting to control the conservative "brand" and fend off competitors for control of the brand.

Also, it may have something to do with living in Manhattan (or for many of the writers, Washington DC).

Anyway, good article. Worth a look.

Jonah would prefer to have Bill Clinton back in the WH? I’m surprised. His mother needs to give him a good talking-to.
