Marylanders are getting their first opportunity to cast ballots in early voting in the hotly contested presidential election between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump today.

Turnout across the state has been high. About 95,000 people had voted across the state by 5 p.m. On the first day of early voting in 2012, 78,000 people cast ballots.

In Baltimore, lines at some early voting centers took more than an hour to navigate. In Carroll and Howard counties, more than 50 voters were lined up outside some early voting centers before polls opened at 8 a.m. At one polling place in Harford County, more than 200 people had voted by 9 a.m.

Linda H. Lamone, state election administrator, said she had not been made aware of any problems.

Baltimore election director Armstead B.C. Jones Sr. also said he had no problems to report, although most city voters had to wait in long lines....

The turnout was very heavy. So packed I could hardly find a parking space this evening. In Maryland one can register to vote during the early voting days for the next week.

There will be much laughter if Maryland goes to Trump.

If it does, Trump wins the whole thing and handily. It hasn’t voted GOP since 1988.

High turnout in Baltimore tends to favor Hillary.

“The city’s primary election in April was marred by irregularities, and state officials ordered the results decertified. State investigators concluded that about 1,700 ballots were handled improperly”

Wish someone would start a prayer thread, specifically for *that*.

What I see and hear in the real world, here, does not jibe with what the “experts” say.

MD is in battle mode.

“62% more Marylanders voted today in early voting which is good news for Maryland and America! Who thinks this enthusiasm is for Hillary? Yeah. Go Trump.”

I’m getting a little concerned about all these long lines and record breaking early voters turnouts across the country....only because my sister in law told me that the line at her designated voting place was so long , she decided to try again tomorrow to vote...this is an extremely blue county part of tx and the witch is turning out her base! She might not attract folk to her rallies but her base is stupidly loyal!! Pray they’ll stay home on the 8th!

I assume a big turnout in Baltimore is probably a bad sign, right?

I definitely think huge turnout in heavily black Baltimore is very bad news. I was hoping the overwhelmingly Dem areas around the country, like Baltimore, would be so unexcited about Hillary that they wouldn’t come out in big numbers. I hope this isn’t a sign that the “press’s” scaremongering tactics and partisan propaganda against Trump are working.

Baltimore County is fairly purple (I know it used to be considered Republican, but Obama won it). Baltimore City is smaller, and heavily Democrat. So it depends which they are referring to. The others mentioned: Carroll County and Hartford are very Republican, Howard is pretty much 50/50. So all in all, it is hard to tell whether this is a good sign or not. Now if Montgomery or PG Counties are showing high turnout, that is a different story.

Tsunami. Americans are tired of getting jacked by the political class and sold down the river to big business and foreign invaders.

FYI, if Trump disappoints us like the GOPe has then people will choose bullets over ballots.

I have a friend who lives and works in Maryland, and she told me on Wednesday that the Trump signage vastly outnumbered the Clinton signs, and that people are lining up to vote for Trump.
